Last Saturday I fired up Duke Nukem 3D I bought on GOG sale and what a refreshing surprise that was.

I don't know is it the low-res textures, interactive environments or just all the key searching stuff but I am having a blast. I didn't expect a shooter from 1996 can be so fun. The levels are way bigger and more complex than I expected from such an old game, and also there are some primitive destructible environments.

Well spent 2.99$.

You never played D3D before Antonio?
:O

One of the best shooters ever made.

If you have a freind, and can do it, play deathmatch.
It is a blast.

This is the first time. I never had luck with video games. No money, no video game shops , old PCs ... there is always something that is preventing me to play games I want.

Thanks God for GoG, Steam and their sales.

I have only ever played parts of the N64 port of the game, which I have heard is worse than not playing it at all. But I enjoyed its deathmatch mode a lot at the time. I could destroy people that destroyed me at Goldeneye deathmatch.

Never played D3D either. It might become my first GOG purchase some time when I'm done with my fairly short backlog (Necrovision and Cryostasis, that's it.).

Currently playing through Final Fantasy 7 (PC Version, worse one but eh). Just got Cid and am having a blast. My party is composed of Cloud, Barret and Yuffie. (dubbed Tea, Lime and Pan) No one likes Yuffie, but i love her. ^.< She's almost as bad as Cait Sith in terms of how useable she is in battle, but I digress.

Well, she can't be as obnoxious as Cloud.

Well, for those of you that never played D3D before:
1. GET the Eduke32 mod. This will allow you to play with correct mouse and keyboard, like any newer game does.
2. If the original pixelated game is too much (it actually gives me a headach, seeing all those huge pixels), get the High Res pack. This will bring the graffix up to about 2005 standards, or higher (must use with Eduke32), and will allow higher resolutions.

"Not as obnoxious" thus meaning she is obnoxious. Yuffie was named Pan. Therefore I am obnoxious. Therefore, eat a dick Brute.

I just finished Enslaved for the 360. This was my first look at the devs who are making the new Devil May Cry game, and it's left me a bit hopeful.

Right off the bat, I have to say I loved this game... but not for its gameplay. I mean, it was fun, and the combat had a really nice "heavy" feel to it, but it's nothing like the deep combat systems you'd find in DMC or Ninja Gaiden. Still, it had a very cool cinematic feel, and I'd guess that's primarily what they were going for based on the way the camera shifts around every time you hit an enemy. I'd say it amounted to fun combat that feels and looks good, but is nowhere near as deep as DMC.

What I really loved about the game was the art, the characters and the presentation. There are very few characters, three to be exact, but they're all done extraordinarily well. The game all around is very unique, and more than a bit weird. The names of the characters are Monkey, Trip, and Pigsy. That alone can tell you the game's a bit odd.

So, after playing this, do I see potential in the new DMC game? Yes, I do. I now know they can present characters and a story well. The question is whether they can match the gameplay of the previous DMC games. There is still the problem with the reboot being totally out of the DMC style, though. I can see it being a good game... just one that's not in the spirit of the original series.

Anyway, the first 3 minutes of this video is an example of why I loved Enslaved.

I've been playing plenty TF2 and DNF multiplayer, also some BFBC2 with my cousin...

DNF multiplayer can be really fun if you can find a server that isn't laggy.

I've been playing me some Jazz Jackrabbit 2. One of the first Win95 games I ever played, there was a shareware version of it on the PC my mom bought back in 1998.

I'm playing Unreal 2 again. I like it. And that's saying something how this game is widely disliked...

...but when I look at many modern shooters, this game suddenly feels great. I really like it. True, it's rather short, doesn't have the same atmosphere as U1, and has some typical Space Marine tropes, but that doesn't ruin it for me. I'd take Unreal 2 over Modern Warfare and Blops anyday.

I remember JJR2. Used to own always on the Hard difficulty.

Like... x40 and something lives? yes please. I still remember when I could find some secret level that had no exit at all. Alas, it's been over 5-6 years ago since I did anything with JJR2...

Decided to brush the dust off my gamecube and revisit some classics. since I'm currently playing through the SSHD's, NE is first on my list. after that, Metroid Prime 1/2 and Pikmin 1/2 will most likely follow

The game really was too forgiving though. You blink for like 5 seconds after taking damage before you can take damage again. Even if you'd manage to lose all your lives (Easier if you use the save function sparingly.) you get a choice to try again or do a game over, only if you are the indecisive type you can restart the animation infinite number of times by pressing left or right keys.

So yeah, I have strong opinions on a childhood favourite.

I just finished playing TAG-The power of paint. It was short but great fun.
To bad they didn't make the full game, instead they just helped make Portal 2.

I consider that to be one of the worst games I have ever played. If I find the time I will dig up one of my rants onanother forum from it, as I don't care to remember what shit it is in detail right now.
