Let's discuss the misterious project, about remaking Serious Sam 2.

Actually what were the initial plans of Croteam about Serious Sam 2, when they started to work on in, and when in the development process came out the idea for the cartoonish, unserious look of the game?

Fitting enough. SS2 and SS3 both went to extremes, and I can't say that I prefer one over the other.

The project is in planning, yes. Was mentioned on CT's facebook some years ago (for some reason).

Btw, what if Ugh-Zan IV is Ugh-Zan II, but in previous battle with Sam, he lost his natural legs, then Mental revive him, giving him the mechanical spired legs and the two extra arms and now revived, he accept the name Ugh-Zan IV, because at this time his son already exist?

Btw what if Ghostbuster Weapon was always just a joke weapon?

Even at time of SS1 Alpha/Sam 2000.

And the Combo Weapon item was used in Mods and can be used in SED2.
So i do not see any Betrayal about Combo Weapon item.

Well, seeing that this thread is now about old SS2 stuff, I guess I won't make a separate thread for this.

You see, there were a few old versions of levels remaining in Croteam's database. Many of them are too old, but I managed to force open a few of them with the internal editor; however, don't be surprised if you see texture errors, huge pink terrains, and the like.

------ 1 - Jungle ------

So first of all, to start out. Have you ever asked the question "Why the first level of SS2 is called Jungle, when there's barely any jungle in it?" The answer to this; because originally, it WAS a level that looks like a jungle! However, that was mostly cut... some of it was incorporated into another cut level, called JungleAndCave; which was originally the third level! It survived long enough that it even had music tracks made for it. Also, remember those caves from the cutscene after beating the first level? That was also part of the level.

------ 2 - City_MonkeyGates ------

City_MonkeyGates seem to be an early version of the 5th level, with similar architecture, but more mountainous layout. There are two versions of it, the difference is mostly in the background, and the fact, that the newer version got pink terrain; which is that it is a terrain that was already painted, but with the default settings of the old models, it doesn't appear right anymore.

------ 3 - TempleGardens ------

An early version of a Chi-Fang level. A much greener one that what we got it seems. However, many elements are quite similar to Chan's Palace. Speaking of Chan, he's here too, in his first form; including a square area where he is about to eat a civilian, just like in that one cutscene.

------ 4 - IndustrialFacility ------

On first glance, this level looks like one of the first Kronor levels. On second glance, it really does look like that, but it's less military, more industrial. On the third glance, it's a more longer and complex level that the first Kronor levels, it even got a whole indoor section. On the fourth glance, one could notice that the mountain where the level ends at is not snowy, but brownish. At fifth glance, one would say, that it's a Pechina level.

------ 5 - SnowRide ------

In the age of yore, where men were men and women were also men, Kronor was an icy planet. It was planned to have its own natives, living in Eskimo-huts. And there was a huge, HUGE level, where Sam seeminly had to slide down a mountain. Likely on a sleigh, that was found in the old models, or his trusty surfboard vehicle, also cut. Maybe for this level, it was a snowboard.

------ 6 - AllianceBase ------

This one is familiar. This is an early version of the final two Kronor levels, before it was finished, and before it was cut to two levels. The interesting part is at the end; where it doesn't end where it was supposed to.

------ 7 - SnowAndIceArena ------

Originally there were 4 arenas on Sirius. One, called "Ice Ice Baby", didn't make it. I can't tell what was the mission here, but those snowmen might had something to do with it.

------ 8 - The Evolution of Siriusopolis Downtown ------

For the finale, I have a doozy for you. Back then, Siriusopolis Uptown and Shield Generator was a single level, called City_Part_I. Siriusopolis Downtown was City_Part_II.
And there are 4 whole old versions that I could find and open!

City_Part_II_D shows a level that looks completely different from the final one. More green, more Egyptian, more pastel. Yet, the layout is still very similar. Another version of this same level is City_Part_II_Tome, which is mostly the same, except the final part... and what the hell is that? Might have been Mental's original HQ.

City_Part_II_D2 shows a different take on the level. While it's still quite green, it is starting to look more similar to the final version. But still not there.

The final early version is City_Part_II_Work. As you can see, it is even more similar to the final version; but still not there.

For the sake of comparison, I took most of the screenshots at the same locations, in similar angles. And for the sake of comparison, I also took screenshots of the final version in the SS2 editor, to see how everything ended up.
