Could you please post some screens? Please?
And when's the release ETA, and did you make your own engine?

Hmmm,I duno,..it seems neither a step or a step down, more a step to the side.

It looks like extreme 2D with blur and focus for perspective,..its interesting, inventive presentation if misleading one to think its more, possable real time that doesnt stutter in home animaition on a standard PC would be nice but I did notice the camera movement did sutter, I do like it but,...Im not wowed.

The depth perspective effects will most likely not be implemented into the game, unless its for cut scenes.

I assure you it is realtime. Its ran on current hardware, I can run it fine on my 9700 pro, 512 ram dell. The engine is home made, and quite inexpensive compared to the other leading engines. Check out http://www.artificialstudios.com for some technical notes.

No. Nor does it have anything to do with Far Cry or the Havoc rag doll system. Although we do have our own ragdoll system

errrrr, what was so special about that? Didn't see any revolutionary special effects, and it all looked a bit cartooney. Higher polygon counts don't really get me anymore, since you can't really tell the difference in that aspect anymore. It's all about physics and gimmicks nowadays.

I found the subsurface light scattering...heck the lighting in general rather impressive...nice soft shadows, and the simulated camera exposure control and deapth of field are rather nifty.

I donno, it could be useful for some stuff...for example a game were the player used optical devices like rifle scopes, binoculars, cameras...
could add a nice touch.

You guys should make a Viet Nam game where you you get to be NVA, and then people will sue your ass because you accidentally have two trees next to eachother taller than the rest that get clipped by a huey.

Or

You guys should make a game where you run around vegas playing with strippers.

Or

You guys should make a parkour game. Look it up.

Or

You guys should make a game about terrorists and counter terrorists.

Or

You guys should make a game about a police officer who murders a whole crime organization.

Or

You guys should make a world war two game. From the German point of view.

Or

You guys should make a Star Wars game. From a sith point of view.

Or

You guys should make a game where you mindlessly blow up large amounts of stuff.

The demo is sweet, I was thouroghly impressed. Looks like the engine could go toe to toe with other major next-gen engines. I havent seen alot of the renderig tricks the engine does elswhere, yet. You guys looking into non-game applications for the engine? The engine could really take off if you get a decent game out with it....before the Unreal 3's of the world are unleashed. Change the name imo. its confusing, and I personally wouldve overlooked the game because it sounds like either a rip off, or trying to capitalize off a trend (Thats already lost momentum at that)...like a low budget Far Cry. Besides, its just a stupid name. Helix Core was way cooler.

That looks awsome. Thank god the focus thing isn't going to be used much, it is horrible.

Other than that,

It sounds too much like Far Cry + Havok Physics.

That doesn't change the fact that it sounds like Far Cry + Havok Physics, or at the very least the next Crytech game.

But it does look very good. Well done and all that.
