I got Serious Sam First Encounter from GOG. addicted. really really addicted. problem. now my wife is addicted too. our problem is how do we save our own games without screwing up the others saved one? been looking all over but can't find anything.

hoping to get it working on Linux too.

thanks in advance.

Captain!

You can use different player profiles, one for you and one for your wife. Should be at Players and Controls or something, in the Single Player and Options menus.

Player profiles are not the same as savegames, Toast.

I don't think there's a way to have seperate savegame folders for different player profiles.

Just don't use the quicksave feature and I think you can name saves when using the manual save function.

Uhm, Angelo, each profile has its own saves. Just tested it to see if memory serves well, made a quicksave and save with one profile, couldn't see them with the others.

Edit: Just to note, I tested it with the Steam version, dunno if it works like that in the GOG version.

Really, that works? I thought there was just 1 unified Savegames folder...

Default why nobody helps me ? .\_/.

I have patched cd version and there is different folders for every profile
But I have absolutely no idea what's in linux... But I know how to run with another settings!

first must create folder to it
example
Code:
mkdir seriousdir
and if u ll want to start with another setting u must type
Code:
$HOME="~/seriousdir/"
and right after that command which launch serous game
it's must be on same string
for example
Code:
$HOME="~/seriousdir/" seriousam.bin
good luck

no nessesary to install it, just copy it

I am lost. I'm missing something here. do I just need to copy the folder from windows and run it via the shell? or do I need to install it via wine? when I tried the install via wine it kept asking me to mount the disk. no disk to mount.

Mint 12 Mate. Fedora. Suse. I have win 7 ultimate on multi boot. I much prefer to do most things in a secure environmental where most internet threats don't work. faster and more stable too. I pretty much only use win7 for games that I can't get to run on Linux. I love watching any kind of internet/virus attack just bounce off.

thats why

it's not a disk. it's not a ISO. it's a windows executable downloaded from GOG.com. when I try and install it in wine it asks me to mount the install media.

I would suggest going to the Serious Sam Series Support Forum on GoG.com and post your questions there.

You are more likely to get your answers there.

I'll give that another try. I have noticed of late that trying to find almost anything in large forums requires reading hundreds of pages to not find what your looking for.
