He does hit a few bad notes and is off-tempo at times... but hey, better than I could do.

ugh! I'm so tired of seeing people with good coordination but with NO RHYTHM!!

These people could be such great musicians, but they've only got half of what it takes.

at least he's got better rhythm than the last mario theme playing pianist we saw here, though

[edit: although, as I'm watching, it seems his tempos are more steady.. thank the lord!]

His performance of the SMW Castle Theme is fan-****ing-tastic.

Not to say that this guy isn't talented (which he obviously is), but it isn't that incredibly hard to play blindfolded or with your eyes closed when you've played to song for a while. Your hands get used to the position and where they have to move, even if there is a big gap between where they are and where they need to be. I've suprised myself a few times by that.

Anyway, this guy is good, real good. You can't just sit down and play like that, you've gotta learn everything, and he did it well. Watch his fingers; they move very fluidly, both hands even. For a right-hander, it's hard to play your left hand very smoothly, it usually ends up a bit choppy, and vice versa. This guy has talent.

Heh, I like how he added some coin and 1-up sounds in one of the pieces. Very impressive

A friend of mine used to play them on electric guitar in his rock band. Very amusing.

Actually, I was thinking about it and the original Super Mario Bros. music oozes calypso... I think it would sound absolutely in place on a steel drum.

Doesn't work for me for some reason, Media Player can't find the file. Anyone got a mirror?

It was written for steel drums once console hardware became advanced enough to support that.
