Default Odd thing about the Cannon Enemies in SS1

Well, i did some testing around with the Cannon enemies in SS1 and i noticed that it takes 2 zoomed in Sniper Rifle shots to destroy one. A zoomed in shot from the sniper rifle in SS1 does 300 damage. Here's the thing: Both the Static and Rotating Cannon only have 100hp! So how the hell does it take 2 shots to kill one? Well, here's what the raw code says:

So if the damage is halved, wouldn't it mean that the sniper would only do 150 damage to it? Or could it mean that when it takes 100+ damage, it prevents the bullet from doing more than 100 damage, and then halves the 100? I'm not sure since i'm not a coder. Maybe you guys know the answer for this.

Well, it clearly halves the damage, so the sniper should do 150 damage if the base is 300, unless there is some other part of the code that loops over this or some other part of the code which affects bullet damage.

I always thought that the zoomed in shot of a sniper rifle does 180 damage.

In that case it would take two zoomed shots to kill a werebull. I remember taking them down with one sniper bullet/two rockets/two point blank double shotgun blasts. A zoomed sniper rifle shot always OHKO'd all humanoid enemies, zum'buls, kleers, werebulls, small biomechs, small lava golems, juvenile arachnoids and harpies.

I always assumed that it's because Werebulls have a weakness to sniper shots.

Well, dunno about SSC but in SSHD, the enemies' resistance to sniper shots are set individually in the enemy puppet settings. Maybe it's the same in SSC?
