Hello and welcome. Do you have something to show us or tell us about what you're making?

You upload it on imgur.com, then right click on the image and click "open image in new tab". After that, click that image that has been opened in a new tab and copy the URL there. Then come back here and click the 'Insert Image' option (it's the second one from the right) in the post message section (where you write to post a reply to the thread) and paste the URL there.

Don't forget to fill your levels with Rocketeers! A lot of custom maps make the mistake of replacing the Rocketeers with Zorgs or just spam Kleers/Werebulls/Kamikaze. Here's a list of reasons why you should use Rocketeers in your map:

1. Controllable challenge!

A few of them isn't too bad, but a swarm of them can really do some damage! Those 5 damage can really pile up. It also provides a measure of skill for those who are able to dodge their shots.

2. All-range!

Not too bullshit in close quarters (protip: don't put Lava Golems up close) and works just fine at longer ranges! Might wanna use Firecrackers if you're giving them the sniper position though; the ensuing range of projectiles can be really beautiful.

3. Spammable!

Fuck those Marsh-Hoppers where you can just sit in a corner and hold down your Chainsaw. You can spawn a shitload of Rocketeers without major framerate drops or being too easy/unfair. Plus it feels great to kill a bunch of them at once!

4. Wall painting!

That's right! You can gib them and decorate the level with their blood + gored parts flying everywhere without any decal entities. It's a spectacular view!

"But PikaCommando, that's only because you're a weirdo who's obsessed with Rocketeers for some reason!" Wrong! Croteam did this themselves too!

If Croteam took the time to record themselves doing it, then it's probably worth something to have placed Rocketeers everywhere in LOTB levels.

First screenshot: It looks a bit empty. Depending on whether it's an arena for fighting or not, you can add statues, debris, torches, pillars or whatever to break up the monotony. Also, in polygon mode when you press Q to open the tools, go to the Shadow tab and set the Cluster Size to something lower to increase the shadow detail of the selected polygon.

Second screenshot: The left wall has a different color than the wall next to it. Is that intentional? The corridors look a bit empty with only a hall with fire holders, maybe add some indentations in the wall, maybe some small pillars or some cool plinths will do a lot for the scenery.

Third screenshot: There's no shadows. If there's no directional light, add one. If so, press ctrl+R to re-render the shadows like Dead_Kadath said (remember, you have to re-render the shadows every time the editor discards them). The walls have different textures and the textures are too big. You can use ctrl+X in polygon mode for the cutting tool, drag a horizontal line in num0 mode and apply different textures to make it look better.

Besides that, it's already looking cool for your first attempt. Keep it up!

Yes, but don't forget that difficulty is based on how many Rocketeers are on-screen at once!

-Press P,
-Mark poligon which you want to cut
-Press Ctr+X
-Go to one of 2D views and press left Mouse button. Hold, move and let second Point go.
-press Enter
-...
-Profit!

If you are not satissfactive with your efect, you can press Ctr+Z. You can have many cutted poligons, so these which are not needed for you, you can merge them. Mark these poligons and press Alt+Num*

Shouldn't you give the palace in the last screenshot some proper textures with more details?

Also, I see some textures are unaligned, like the houses in the 3rd screenshot. You can either select a polygon and press ctrl+shift+a to auto-align them (rarely works) or select a polygon and then drag mouse 1 around while holding ctrl to move texture position. You can try messing around with the texture stretch size too.

Sorry for offtopic but this always confuse me - even in Quake 1 an 1996 game, enemies were gibbing to their +/- respective parts like head, hand etc.

Why every enemy in Serious Sam Classic gibs into some meaningless red balls of meat?

I think Kleers explode into bones, so my guess is that Croteam is just lazy.

Lava golem in tight spaces is a very bad thing. The concept's pretty cool though.

Small ones are not that big of the deal, the big ones might be a very bad thing

It looks cool. But I think, the color scheme (red and black) is not contrasting and definitely not enough yet one another color. It would be great to add bright fire elements - flames or something like glowing lava in the cracks on walls/floor/ceiling.

Don't forget that red isn't as hot as orange, white, or even white-blue. The color changes the hotter things are, so add more of a range to your level for more visual variety.
