Default DeadKadath's showcase

Hi, I created this topic because I can do it.
Well... Where should I start with?

I make some stuff on SE1 (you can find some of my works in the SSR workshop and serioussite), but I'm trying to make something on the Serious Engine 3.5/2017 almost throughout 1 year.
Yes, I promised to release "Summer In Cairo Classic" two monts ago, but I so carried away about the new engine and it's difficult to return to SE1. It's 12 years of Serious Engine 1 vs just one year of new engine... New Engine wins this battle.

Anyway, I created this topic because (i'm not repeating myself?) I want to show you what I'm doing at the moment. For now, it will be only screenshots, plans and the hope that someday I will release something at Fusion workshop.

Well, I'm trying to make an interior. I created this room in 3d max, but corpses/armchairs/textures from HL2.

True. But I'll try to animate it manually. Probably, it will be difficult
I worked on the materials. Now it looks much better, original-like

The first time I saw the screenshots I had a familiar feeling. I couldn't place it, but just now I realized the atmosphere reminds me a lot of STALKER. Great job, man.

I never played STALKER. Actually played, but... I deleted it after an half-hour. Although, there are common features: post-apocalyptic abandoned places and similar color scheme.

Some good news, guys
I composed soundtrack for an amazing map "The Curse of Sekhmet" by Urban_Human (Serious Sam Fusion 2017). You can get it from Steam Workshop
Soundtrack consists of 7 tracks in a typical Sam-like style (Egyptian theme, powerful percussions and guitars), and 2 bonus "Fight" tracks - instrumental cuts from "Angelic Rebellion" and "Post-apocalyptic Indians" by Undercode.

Holy shitballs. These tracks sound amazing, they have that classic Serious Sam feel to them and the quality of the samples/intstrumentation is great. I'd really love to hear how you made these songs.

However, I'm not a fan of the mastering. I ran the tracks through foobar2000's ReplayGain and all your tracks peak above 2.03 dB, and Desert Peace peaks at 3.36 dB. That's pretty insane and makes your track sound really compressed and without ReplayGain (like in a game) the tracks sound needlessly loud. It's best practice to set the peak level of your track to 1.0 dB and adjust the volume downwards to the quietest channel/sample to preserve the optimal quality. Sadly with the loudness war the average peak of the music industry is at 1.1-1.2 dB, but you can make a change, man.

Anyway, I don't mean to shit on your work. The music itself is absolutely amazing, but it can benefit from more subdued mastering. Hell, if you're interested I would love to use your talent for my project some time.
