Edit: granted the second part of your question could use an answer.

As for your other question, it's on the list.
I asked if SS HD would have advanced physics, not if the SS2 or SS3 engine has advanced physics. Just because the engine has advanced physics does not mean they will add it to an old game. When Valve ported HL1 to the Steam engine, they added advanced physics to the game which changed game-play. Ragdoll physics was not enabled in SS2 by default and most of what we saw from the preview videos was removed from the game. Besides, advanced physics does not only mean ragdoll physics. It may also include the use of physics processors so we can blow up the environment.

PPUs are becoming pointless with processors constantly gaining more cores and efficiency (amount of work done per clock cycle).

Pretty sure I didn't see this listed in the first post, but if it is... I apologize.

Will Serious Sam: HD for PC support 16:9 and 16:10 monitors?

Well, of course, even SS2 does support that, though there's a little bug with aspect ratio (When you set 16:10 resolution, aspect ratio sets to 4:3 (though resolution is 1920x1200). They only way to change that is to go to settings file and set aspect ratio from 1,33333 to 1,6 (or through console)

I know it may seem like a dumb question, but will the retail version of SS HD use the Steam Service? Will there be another DRM scheme used? If so, then what?

Yes, Serious Sam 2 supports it... but by cropping the top and bottom of the image. Giving you a narrower view and making the game feel more cramped.

What I would like is for it to support 16:9/16:10 without cropping top and bottom.

Agreed, SS2 doesn't even support 1280x1024 properly, which is like the most popular resolution choice out there.

By the way the last SS on Steam thread went, I doubt any of them will be willing to put SS:HD on Steam, let alone SS3.

You wouldn't see any games on Steam if all game devs reacted that way to the complaints of one random guy whining on some internet forum.

That would imply that those who whined were capable of thinking.

A couple of random people then (the majority still said yes and for chickens' sakes we've already had the exact same discussion on other threads before with no whining whatsoever ).

But that hardly matters, because SS on Steam = moar cash for Croteam and the publisher.

You'd be dumb not to make that equation.

[SS3] Will we get a chance to hear some rockin' heavy metal tunes during boss/massive battles like in SS1?

[SS3] Would you all consider having having a contest for Serious Sam fans where people would submit enemy/weapon/environment ideas and the best enemy/weapon/environment designed by fans would be worked into SS3?

I know you all are doing this for one-liners, but I think something a little more substantial would get a whole lot of fans excited. I know the developers working on the new Ratchet and Clank game did this with great success.

I have a q

Will there be something new in Serious Sam 3? I appreciate all the run and gun gameplay Serious Sam has, but it can use something new...maybe more interactive world/environment. To Sam can do some melee tricks, alternative ammo for weapons, alternative fire mode for weapons, more weapons, and totally weird/crazy/wacky enemies/ideas. Basically stuff like that, Sam should expand more.

I don't really mind what they come up with ... as long as it doesn't look like this.

[SS:HD] Will you add some some competitive things like a score board that shows everyone's stats of how many kills, secrets, power up pickup, etc. are found/done in co-op mode?

[SS:HD] First and Second Encounter had many broken triggers which resulted an incorrect maximum killcount and secret values. Will these be fixed?

Besides, it all boils down to scripts that CroTeam deactivate during testing purposes.

Basically the broken triggers are the scripts that they forget to activate again.

Either that or forgetting to use something to activate the script (Touchfield, item, etc...)

I have a few questions:

1.Will we get dual wielding of weapons? Sam's moto is double the gun, double the fun

2.Better low end pc/mid range laptop support so we will still be able to play on low end systems but without fancy shaders?

3.Better gamepad support?

4.Will enemies have blow-off-able limbs? Beheaded Bearmed Kamikazes

This should be all from me for now.

Judging from the latest screen that was released on Twitter, it seems my first question has been answered. Looks like Sam will go back to the old look from the Second Encounter.

This actually makes me sad a little, I know I'm in the minority here... but I actually preferred Sam's look in SS2 myself. The rest of the game was a bit to cartoony, but Sam looked awesome.

He looked cartoony as well. It wouldn't have fit with the new look.

He didn't look nearly as cartoony as everything else. And, he actually had some personality... something he didn't have visually in the first two games.

In the first and second encounters Sam looked... boring and dull visually. So, I was extremely glad to see his visual look updated for SS2. And yes, it is cartoony. But it could've easily been changed in subtle ways to make him appear more realistic and still maintain that personality.

Sam, visually looked awesome on the box art of the first two games, though that's not what he looked like in the game, I'm guessing that's why he looks boring to Darkness
