Haha awesome, keep em coming. You know if you rip Gordon Freeman, then Pan won't have to make it. I don't think he's started that one yet. Rebel male 07 would be pretty badass too.

Noam man, I'm really happy you got your models working. But perhaps don't post all of them in my tutorial thread? XD Make a showcase and put them in there. Not that I don't like them, it just seems like a bit much to have all these photos here.

Just askin' nicely.

Really helpful tutorial, Pan.
Thanks a lot for taking the effort to record and explain everything so detailed
A weapon tutorial would certainly help a lot of modders (Including me )
Because i was working on a slight redesign of Sam 2's plasma rifle a while back
Here's a shot of the high poly model for normal maps

Dayum! Nice plasma gun!!!!!
Totally ask Viper45 to get that going.

As for these tutorials, I am definitely going to have to try and get a model in. :]

Wonderful to see someone is finally doing tutorials.

Hopefully you're able to continue to expand upon this database. Sometime eventually make a "Serious Editor 3/3.5 for COMPLETE Newbies" if you can. We're out there. xD

Hmm, I wonder if I could do some tutorials as well. I originally planned some, but then I forgot about it/got busy.

Heh, well me and Pan thought to release these tutorials together on different subjects, but life started giving me lemons and I couldn't start recording yet lol. Hopefully I will start to release mine too before Christmas or so.

Oh, also there's that one other person on Youtube who has apparently done some tutorials on level-related things. Can't say anything about the quality though, as I haven't gone through and watched them yet.

I probably could go and do some more tutorials on more obscure things... but eh, that'd take effort. I kinda did that one tutorial because it bothered me how people in that one thread didn't get how to work that particular subject.

Well we could actually try to use and expand this wiki, it was made for that, but barely used, known and edited.

I wouldn't say start on a random subject for most of you. Would be better to start off with learning the basics of Serious Editor. While these tutorials are awesome, some people prefer to start at step 1. This would also attract a larger audience for you, but I'm really sure you just put these out for community use.

Again, jumping right in in the middle of something may seem odd for many.

As Mongo said, I hold your hand and guide you through all the steps. The level related tutorials on youtube for SED3/3.5 don't explain crap so I feel they are worthless.

Yeah those ones aren't very good.....

But anyhow, I cannot wait until more tutorials come! I still haven't really tried to import my own model, but watched the tutorials and they seem really nice. Will EVENTUALLY make my own (NO ONE DARE MAKE SAMUS ARAN, THAT'S MINE) Okay, cannot wait.

Hello I'm Mike. first time poster long time player of serious sam. Well I do have a question concerning the tutorial. I got all the tools and when I tried to get the serious sam Image I downloaded to help me get the model size up blender is not showing the background image at all and i set it up to the exact sepcifications I saw in the first video ,but it still doesn't want to show up.. Is there a way to fix this problem so i can show up? I tried resizing it, turning off and on the image, moving it into position ,but it doesn't show up at all.

Here is a picture with the model i was working with with the problem and also the information i put in for the background

due to it's size i'm just putting it in a url

Hi there Mike. Have you tried pressing Numpad 5 and the pressing Numpad 1? After doing this, resize the image to something big and make sure its positions are at 0 so it appears at the centre. Lemme know how that works for you.

Aliens Colonial Marines? I approve of your choice. It's a good model to choose to learn with.

Edit: I recommend clicking the cameras and stuff that isnt your model and removing them, they can be an interference.

Hey Mike,

Background images only show up in orthographic viewports. The viewport you're using is in perspective mode. Hover your mouse over that viewport then hit 5 on the numberpad to switch it to orthographic mode. You can then press 1 for front view, 3 for side view, and 7 for top view. You can also press 5 again to toggle back to perspective mode if you want to.

Edit: Pan ninja'd me.
