Maybe, but you're not always as small as a rat in this map. After you wash yourself out of the toilet you'll see...how about being a giant then?

A secret room where you enter a machine to become giant would probably be best. When doing this, set any enemy's behaviour to that of the kamikaze and tweak it a bit so whenever you walk into a tiny enemy, they will be "crushed" by Sam's big feet

Yeah, but I think the explosion would hurt Sam if you'd use kamikaze behaviour...unless I'd drop in an inviciblity powerup or something.

I was thinking more of creating some kind of a hulk Sam who rips entire cities (or villages) to pieces. And since almost every object has destruction in SS2, that wouldn't take too much work...or would it? There's no way to minimize things in the editor as far as I know, unless I'd mess up with the model itself.

That secret room is a good idea though. I might add one to this map (having many secrets in my maps is my "trademark").

It doesn't. I've tested it before, the enemy just blows up as though you killed it with explosives (Even the NPCs with their flower blood). Test it yourself if you don't believe me

You wouldn't need to mess with model. Just resize it in the options of the entity

Create a machine that makes juice out of gnaars!
And then create an enemy that uses a toilet model and runs after you!
Then make an enemy from a house model.
And after that create a room where each object is your enemy! That would be cool!

And PLEASE put somewhere a tablet with those letters:

@ Shrinker- Thanks for getting it on the filesystem. Sorry for my massive descriptions again, but I've got used to giving very detailed info about my maps and stuff.

@ Deepblue- Good to know. Btw, I tried minimizing my models without success. What values do you need to use? I tried setting -2 for each value but the model just grew bigger

@ SLAwww- I wish I knew what "bIW" means... I could make a room where every object is your enemy, but wouldn't that mean that I'd have to create animations for them as well? I've never made animations before, so I don't know how it turns out...

I think I'll still keep the rat concept for a while. That's the place where you end up after flushing yourself down the toilet. I just made this area so it's still quite undetailed and it might look a bit crappy (no, not crappy again...let's say "bad"...).

All model sizes are 1 at default. Try values like 0.5 and 0.25

If you use numbers like -1, they will go bigger according to what size you put but become room-like (e.g. enter -3 and the model will resize like you put in 3 but be like a room), this also happens with .SKA models in SED1

See that fake health box in the left corner of the screenshot? Ironically now it has health in it This area would really need some shadows. Once I have finished the entire map, then I'll try to make a shadowmap. I hope I don't get the same error as always this time...

A good way to do the shadowmaps is to make it after making the model but not deleting any polys along the way (Do it when everything is done). Why do you think I do shadowmaps as I make the maps? Much easier

Also all the polys have to be connected somehow. If you make two objects that don't connect to each other in the same model, doing the shadowmaps will cause a crash (I've done this before believe me)

I plan to do them after I complete everything since everything is on place already and it is really took very long time to bake it.

But I know there's a price to pay for doing that after completeing everything... :O

Whenever I try to copy from an another uvmap, the editor malfunctions when I press OK (When making shadowmaps for interior areas). I'll try to grab a screenshot for you. I managed to make a shadowmap for the terrain btw, by selecting Planar projection along Y axis like described on the terrain tut on SeriousEngine.com, but now I don't know how to apply it on the terrain

I guess I shouldn't worry about it yet though. I still need to complete the map

I think I know why it crashes for you. Because you are trying to copy the "Default" uvmap!

You cannot copy this special uvmap. Instead when making a terrain, you should make a new uvmap to texturise the terrain.

Just create a UVmap called texture for each one like I said ages ago. As long as you select the polys that you are creating the uvmap for when doing it, everything should be fine otherwise if you don't select the polys, the uvmap will apply to every poly in the model (If you have several different materials, you don't want this)

You should add any corpses in the map as ragdolled props, it'll look much better than way and parts won't be stuck in the ground

The list is too long to be listed (or maybe I am just lazy ), but they are named like normal ones, except that they are not used often or not even played at all.

You should try them one by one to see if you think the map suit it.


Example :

Peace music (You never hear this music ingame)
2_1_Magnor_Swamp_Base_Peace_Tense.Ogg

Fighting music (As above, you never hear this music ingame, not very strong though)
4_1_Kleer_Wasteland_Peace_Tense.ogg


This both music suit a scary map.

You don't have to redo the shadowmaps all the time, as long as you don't add anything to that model, all you have to do is press Shift+B (Ctrl+Shift+B is to bake every model in the map I think)

As for the unused music, just listen to all the music files. You'll know them when you hear them

It's funnier to use the ragdoll instead of the basketball. Maybe I'll add a secret here.

One question though- how do I get these ragdolls to react to bouncers? If I throw him to a bouncer, he just starts shaking crazily (as though he was being electrocuted), but he doesn't fly away like Sam does. If I use the default mechanism instead, he will react to it, but it doesn't look so good.
