Changes since last private alpha release:

- Added Knife melee weapon replacement with custom animations, courtesy of Viper45! Deals far less damage than Sledgehammer, but faster to swing.

- Player model fixes

- Gamemode fixes. Melee no longer grants 10% speed buff, defaults to 1 round per game, more detailed info texts.

We have a new update coming out soon, prolly within 1-2 days. Changes include buffed knife damage, removal of artificial rules (they are scripted now; guards can't activate objectives), new Rassvet Jungle map, new Bush disguise, and new player models like Boss and Ocelot.

Changelog:

- Added new map, Rassvet Jungle
- Added new improved scripting, guards can no longer activate mission objectives in both maps
- Added new guard models; Boss, Ocelot
- Added new Big Boss variant, (Naked)
- Added Bush disguise (Cannon replacement, exclusive to the jungle map)
- Buffed Knife damage from 45 to 65
- Changed Snakes' collision to be lower when prone. Snakes can now go under more obstacles including trucks.
- Added an indicator for the weapons room in the Warehouse map (it's now an objective)
- Updated translations
- Added alligators as neutral animals (jungle exclusive)

Untested in multiplayer so far. There's a chance the scripts might break with multiple players, if they do, please inform me and I'll revert back to the old scripts temporarily till I can figure it out. On the other hand, if they do work perfectly fine, let me know as well so I won't have to worry!

Good sneaking there. You have something overriding the jungle trees though because that's not how they're supposed to look, I gave them my own SS3 textures. Actually you have something overriding the bushes as well, because they look displaced and not the correct size in the video (see the distant bushes that are supposed to cover all of the hills). Otherwise good video, but I'd prefer if it had those corrected. Maybe when we test again with a larger player count?

Ah it must be from when I was building the bush disguise. The tree issue must be the base tree I gave you before you worked on it. I'll remove that as well. I'll have to fix my files. Very sorry, Finzy. I'll make an updated video when we test with more players to compensate.

Silly me, I had no idea. Whenever we play next I'll make note to have that rectified.

Edit: MMMuuuucuh better. Stupid beta files.

I changed mine on my end for the game. But it's very temperamental. I changed the icons but they've only ever appeared once despite them being overwritten. I THINK I'm doing something wrong but I'm not sure.

I think weapon icons are only replaced if they are placed in a gro and only in the game, not in the editor.

Why not check out how the New Hud Pack in SSHD was changed in it's .gro and see if you can do the same thing in Sam 3?

The HUD Problem is something I've been wondering about because it's something I'm really interested in.

Manual installs. If you don't want the Workshop version, you download the .gro from this site, and install it in your Serious Sam 3's Content/SeriousSam3 or Sam3 folder.


Just got through playing some games. Fun as Hell guys. I feel the Guard might be a bit to strong if 1v2 (One guard). But that's me, so I don't know. Any other opinions?

I feel that it really depends on the skill of both parties and how they act. I've seen a Snake sneak around 2 guards that were in good viewing positions and get to both objectives. They got him in the end but if each snake is skilled they can over come that advantage which I think is nice.

On the newer map Snakes are still getting into the groove of the map and how to hide. Like when Finzy ran into the open with the bush disguise on and got shot to death.

Haha, yeah. I don't blame people for not playing though. I've even gotten myself addicted to a few games and left a project lying there 'cause I'm a jerk. I imagine it'll only get worse when Titanfall comes out along with The Stick of Truth and such.

Released a tiny test patch for the event. Sorry but this had to be done so people can enjoy the map better. Don't worry though, it's just a small update (6 mb), people with all versions have to get this.

Changelog (v.0.8.1):

- Added walls and some more obstacles to Rassvet Jungle, better balancing it for the Snake side
- Optimized the map by removing unnecessary (unseen) shadows from objects, fps is around 10-25% better
- Added a pistol spawn to guard HQ satellite shack
- Updated underwater player sounds so that they are very silent and "stealthy", otherwise you could hear players swimming miles away

I'm pretty sure that workshop content is loaded AFTER gro data manually placed in the SeriousSam3 folder. This means that the current map data in the workshop gro will override the patch gro, making the patch do absolutely nothing for workshop users (at least in terms of map changes).

Note that changes to the map are essentially client-side, so people with the patch will see the walls, while people without the patch won't. It just depends on if the host has the patch or not to determine which side is "correct".
