I'm using 14.12.

EDIT: I tested regular TSE, and I don't seem to have that extreme error. Can't say about the polygon error, I tried City of the Gods and that doesn't seem to have that many overlapping polygons to see, though noticed some very small ones on the pyramid edges.

I do remember that some newer AMD drivers no longer support older versions of OpenGL, and on Revolution, that might be the thing causing the polygon error. Though not sure.

If it's so troublesome you could leave it as it is. You have to go out of your way to notice it and the FOV needs to be set pretty high.

After the newest update, each time I close the game, Steam thinks it's still running, so it won't let me start it again.

I have to restart Steam. Is that happening only to me, or more ppl?

I might also mention I mostly play with mods, but I guess that's not a point.

Have you pushed the update? The graphical glitches are still there and the file details of the SeriousSam.exe file says it's modified on 16-09-2015...

Okay, the game has just updated, and the graphical glitches are gone. The polygon clipping only appears when the FOV is above 100, so that's an improvement. I still get the wavy polygons when viewing intersecting polys at a distance while moving, though.

I have a question:

How come every time I play certain custom maps, when I get to a certain area or something I get this message:

For example: Cannot open mpx 'music/Hatshepsut/Intro.mp3' for streaming: Encoded audio in archives must not be compressed.

If anyone has an answer, please let me know. Thanks.

That's the mapper's fault. Vorbis (ogg) and MP3 are "compressed" file formats, and Serious Engine 1 has problems decoding compressed audio files that are again compressed by a gro file, so it won't play.

In short: some dumbass compressed mp3 and ogg files in a gro file while they should be saved without compression. You could extract the gro file to your Sam dir (makes uninstalling harder), or you could extract it somewhere else, re-archive it yourself without compression (don't forget to rename extension to gro) and it'll work dandy.

Doesn't 1.07 support .ogg only ? I believe Croteam moved to .ogg from .mp3 since 1.02 / 1.04 version of FE ..

Discy, I did the above suggestions; however, when I played one of the custom maps, I opened up the console and it said the same said message. I'm not sure if I'm doing it right or wrong.

nvm, discy. I just figured it out:

All I had to do was move the entire music folder containing the mp3s to the sam dir. When I played the mappack and heard the music, It worked!

Actually, Second Encounter never supported MP3. First Encounter fully supported MP3 up until 1.05. However, the Steam version and Serious Sam: Gold retail already had the Vorbis decoder, music in Vorbis format and lack of MP3 support. I still have a retail First Encounter that uses MP3, and if I update to 1.05, stilll uses MP3.

Don't quote me on this, but I've heard that if you copy an original First Encounter Amp11Lib.dll to your Bin folder, the game will accept MP3 again.

Well, there you have it. Though why anyone would still use MP3 is beyond me, it's inferior in every conceivable way to Vorbis, except maybe in some cherry-picked cases.

But yeah, aac is better than mp3, though that's not much of a challenge.
