Thanks for the answers of Sam BG's questions, Solais. I can definitely see the Khnums and Scrapjacks returning in Sam 4.

Okay, why you just not remove all enemies? I guess this will be enough non-breaking gameplay for you, guys... Get your sh!t together and improve your skills.

Replay the game. And again. And again. And again.

Dominate it the hard way. The right way.

And there is no such a thing as "You must be able to beat the game without being hurt." Well, this sucks. In Painkiller BooH you've got to harm yourself in order to make the final boss vulnerable and the game RULES.

In Serious Sam there is no such a thing, so if you get hurt - it's all your fault, not game's. So random spawn witch-brides with telekinetic grasp. Homing projectiles, which don't explode when impact with walls and objects, except the player. All baddies from FE/SE/BFE in one game, with all their original variations. That's the SS game I want.

Sorry, I'm getting a little bit emotional, when we talk about this...

Highlanders shoot different projectiles in TSE, they act more like the Fiendian Reptiloid Demon's magic projectile without the 180 degree turning. The TFE projectiles were kinda shitty, especially with more types of enemies as support so I'm glad it was changed. The common reptiloid's projectile was very well made in my opinion.

I too agree that the Reptiloids and their projectiles are well made and balanced. I'd rather have them than the scorpions or the Witch-Bride.

Though, I personally liked the TFE projectiles of the Highlander more. Imo they werre a lot easier.

What about a two kind of Highlanders - one with FE attack and one with SE attack? FE Highlander on Serious can be pain in the ass, when there are and other enemies (Valley of the Kings, Moon Mountains's secret cave, where you have to watch out for the kamikazes and the homing missiles...).

Also - Highlander's Bride should appear again.

I've never really understood why there is such an obsession over the older enemy types. Wouldn't the game universe be far more interesting if there were a wider variety of monsters to shoot? You can still keep around some classics, some enemies are too iconic to throw away, but back those up with some fresh blood. You have a whole, unexplored universe at your fingertips. Take advantage of that.

Croteam would never make a Serious Sam game without new monsters exactly for hat reason. Every enemy in Serious Sam 3 is a great addition, but some enemies just need some tweaking. Imagine having almost every enemy from Serious Sam 1 and 3, with some fresh faces. I'd get diamond hard.

Are you Hitler?

Speaking of enemies, the zombies in the first Quake come to mind when I think of good enemies. How they would always get back up unless you used explosives. That was a pretty cool twist...

Technically Quake zombies regenerate to 60 hp every frame, so the only way they would die is if they received at least 60 damage in one frame. That can be a rocket, grenade... or any weapon that does 60 damage or over with a quad damage: Like every weapon except the nailgun (it does 9 damage per nail, 9*4 doesn't meet the 60 hp threshold). Also certain enemy attacks do enough damage to destroy a zombie (the vore has a hack that always does 60 damage on zombies). Also, if you down a zombie you can stand on them so they can't get up, that always entertained me.

I think every old-school style fps could use quirky AI like that. It adds depth and keeps things interesting.

I made a Kleer enemy that worked similar way in SSHDX, but it was still quite buggy, mostly in uneven terrain where it could easily fall out of the level. I wonder if the Current Engine could do it better now.

The numbering really doesn't make sense, and I hope Croteam will stop doing it.

Actually, I hope they don't. It gives us consumers a point of reference when we're talking about past Serious Engine iterations. Are we talking about the one featured in Serious Sam TFE? HD? BFE? Etc.

Yeah, I was pretty sad when I realized the Albino wouldn't be in Sam3. It just looks so badass holding that jeep.

I wonder, would it be too complex to code a new ability for larger enemies? I think someone suggested a while ago that Khnums could benefit from the ability to snatch up smaller enemies, and toss them at players. Imagine a Khnum belting a Kamikaze in your direction, leaving you only a few seconds to kill the flying explosive.
