Default Serious Merchandise...

So...what kind of merchandise would you guys like to see most?

Frisbees? Hats? Shirts? Clocks? Teddy bears for valentine's day? What do you want to get your hands on RIGHT NOW and what do you imagine it looking like in a pwnz0r world where everything is pwnz0r?

Feel free to make your own designs for things and submit them here, but if you want them to be used you'll need to make them at high resolutions and DPIs and keep an uncompressed copy in case we need it.

how snazzy of a clock can you produce? i don't mean just a simple plastic backing, but maybe a lighted one with the bomb slapped in the center... you know, something snazzy.

Hmm... we're getting kind of exotic... I'd settle for a t-shirt myself. Black. Cofee mugs would be good. You know -- real computer "peripherals". Comfortable stuff to wear around and caffeine containers to sustaine the late night urge to frag. That was FRAG, not what Egg had in mind... I manage fine on my own there.

*edit* Maybe a beer stein Heavy glass with the bomb logo or something like that. I could deal with that... Alternatively, maybe (with Croteam's approval / participation) you could do some type of community map / level CD. "Only available from Seriously..." *sigh* Doubt that last idea would fly, but it would be cool.

I would like a serious T-shirt, and a serious cloth badge that can be sewn on to bags, jackets etc. (the bomb logo). How cool would that be?

A hooded sweatshirt would be cool. Mouse pad, coffee mug, beer stein, shot glass for Serious shooters , boxers. I like Oswald's idea about the clock too.

Until we get an established revenue base we'll be using the basic CafePress service. Once that's established we'll look into producing non-standard items such as an actual gnaar stuffed animal or custom stress balls and the like.

You can find all of the products that we can produce without going out and contracting custom work on CafePress' product list page.

I'll probably end up creating a poll to see what is wanted the most, but what I'm really asking for in this thread are design ideas you have. What do you think would make a really kickass t-shirt? An awesome hat? The coolest frisbee in the world?

Also, I'm asking for people who have the ability to help out with some of the designs. If you have a really badass idea for something you want to have, go ahead and make it and we just might use it! If you plan on doing this, however, you'll need to read over this page first. Keep in mind that size doesn't matter at all compared with quality of the image. A high DPI and resolution will need to be used as well. Also, it'd make it a lot easier on you if you use templates for some of the items, such as the clock, which requires the placement of the tick marks/numbers in the image itself. At the bottom of that page you can find templates for:

Clock
Drinkware
License plate frame (top)
License plate frame (bottom)
Mousepad
Tile
Oval Patch
Patch
Photo Frame

Other items, such as a T-shirt, don't really need templates as you just make the image and put it on the shirt where you want it. I would really appreciate any help people can give us, as what you can do is what YOU want to see, and I'm not the best graphics designer in the world.

Perhaps you can let designers know, unless I missed it in a previous post, what is off-limits as far as content/images from the site here. I remember you discussing in a different thread how some items, such as the bomb logo, could not be used. Has this changed?

I suppose I could go ahead and say it, instead of just alluding to it. We recently recieved full production and sales rights for Serious Sam merchandising(THANKS CROTEAM!! ). While this is not official yet, as we have not worked out the contracts, it is a very important step forward. People have been wanting Serious Sam merchandise since day one, and the only things that are out there are prizes that are only given away selectively, and aren't available for sale. We got a box full of these to give away, but unfortunately don't have a reliable revenue stream to cover the costs of shipping the prizes to winners all over the world(which is why only one package of swag has been shipped so far).

100% of the revenue from merchandise sales will be going back into the site, helping us provide a better site and allowing us to continue to grow in the coming months and with the explosion of visitors that will come here with the release of Serious Sam 2, Alpha Black Zero, and other upcoming Serious Engine titles. It also gives you what you've been waiting for - kickass Serious Merchandise. And third, it increases the awareness of Serious Sam. Seems like a win-win-win situation to me. All additional funds will be saved for 'emergencies,' such as an explosion of visitors in one particular month that drives our bill for that month up. Additional money after that will go towards prizes, hopefully allowing us to have monthly, or even weekly giveaways. I think it'd be awesome to be able to give away ten or so copies of Serious Sam 2 when it is released..

So going back to your question, Murtle, almost anything Serious Engine related can be used. The only things that can't be used are things that are under different ownership situations, such as screenshots from Alpha Black Zero. Anything from SS:FE and SS:SE, including content released for it, is free to be used on the merchandise, allowing for the creation of the absolute best swag on the face of the planet
