There's a few reasons to choose either.

Serious Sam classic:
  • Classic maps work in Revolution, but Rev maps don't work in classic.
  • The netcode is much better and it's actually barely playable in Rev with more than two players.
  • Anything in Rev could still break at any moment with updates because it's not finalized.

Serious Sam Revolution:
  • Integrated workshop support makes it very easy to distribute, find and rate content.
  • It has a lot of new stuff and potential, like additional entities, scripting, customizability making it perfect for new content.

You'd have to make a list what's most important for you in a custom campaign and base your game decision on that.

Really, Revolution would be the obvious choice if not for the broken netcode.

Unless when I use this nice blue color I totally didn't steal from Blizzard.

Why not both? I voted for Classic TSE, but what I really mean is make it in Classic TSE first, and then port it over to Rev. Win-Win?

Revo is ok if you plan to do a pretty simple campaign with no distinctive look and changes. If you want to make something more complex and bigger, then Classic game is your best choice, 'cause you can actually code for it anything you want, make it look like a standalone, brand new game and have more freedom.

that statement is only valid for modders and those with the tools.
SLAwww would say the same exact thing for this, he did to me once.

I'll put a vote in for Rev, mostly because of the new features, and this is mostly for those who don't can't afford fancy c+ compilation software.
