![]() Working on Metropolis Circuit at the moment. Not much to show right now, got the basic idea down. Giving it a basic octagon shape as a whole. Issue with it is filling it in.
I'm going to try and give each map a gimmick to keep things interesting. Metropolis Circuit's gimmick is its bridge. There's something wrong with it, to put it simply. Guess you'll find out when you race. ![]() ![]() Not pictured: Secret routes, crumbs, death. ![]() It's still a heavy WIP. Still working on placing objects and all that. I'm trying to keep it to the actual Metropolis/Suburbs models as possible but the pyramid seemed like a good thing to race around for the first track of the map pack since it's a pretty major thing for Sam games. But yes, still struggling to fill in space and trying to make the track entertaining to run through. The issue with things like houses is I can't put a lot of small ones in there to cover up spots or it'd be bad for optimisation. But the scale can be a bit bad if I make them too big. So I took the best of both worlds but am worried it might ruin it for some people... better than a laggy map I guess. Any ideas or things to point out from that would be great, thanks. Keep in mind WIP though. ![]() I'd also like information or opinions on good songs that you think would fit for a Serious Sam kart track. I'm fine with the normal OSTs from ANY of the games but if you find something like a remix of a song or something in the same style of a Sam game lemme know. Would love to check it out. I'm trying to do at least 3 tracks for the pack for Sam games. One in Egypt. One in aztec locations (Ziggurat? I forget what age that is) and Medievil.

![]() Metropolis Circuit V1.0:
![]() ![]() Devised a way to make it so that all car speed variants are in one map so that the overall file size is cut down. The map is 30mb which is weird since almost all the things in there I have saved separately as their own model/made by Croteam so I thought that'd cut down the file size but not so much. So there's a peek at it. Textures will be improved soonish and see if I can't make it a bit more visually appealing. Adding weapons and power ups now. The shorter versions are easier to get through but have less rewards whilst the longer paths offer you greater weapons and power ups for your kart. So it's a win/win situation in both regards.

You have 1 minute of prep time then the count down starts and you race. If you want to restart the race you just restart the map and wait a minute whilst everyone preps up. In the smaller maps where it's easier to set up you just drive up to the line and wait 30 seconds.

![]() So the Test Track can't be played by some people. I used an electricity sound in the track that not everyone has but alot of people actually DO have. I thought it was an official Croteam file since it was in their file system but apparently not. So if you can't play that, sorry.
So since the beta tests went well. Here's the beta as it currently is ready to play for anyone. http://www.mediafire.com/download/9v...KartsBeta1.gro http://www.mediafire.com/download/pl...phaHotFix1.gro Place them in Steam\SteamApps\common\serious sam hd the second encounter\Content\SeriousSamHD_TSE Bugs and Issues so far: - Teleporters only working for host, not clients. - Test Track not playable by all players - Karts are too weak, need more health. - Low-End systems can't handle Metropolis Circuit. Will look into. Karts: - Vasiles wheels to be made to look more golden. (Fixed) - 100cc speed will be added - Serious Sam kart to be made Overhauled first post with information and links to stuff.
