Default What everyone should know about leaderboards and score...

  • Your entry on the "Entire Game" leaderboard is a sum of your best scores on each of the levels. If you re-play one level and get a better score, your total is updated. (Note that Karnak Demo level counts as well!)
  • This works even if you play each level on different difficulties.
  • You have to play without cheats to enter the leaderboards. This means that you have to start a level clean. If you turn on the cheats once, that level and all from there, and any saves generated with that, will be marked as cheating and cannot upload score.
  • Playing on a higher difficulty will give you more score. Check the multiplier numbers in parenthesis besides the difficulty. (E.g. Serious (x50) )
  • By customizing the difficulty, you can tune your score multiplier. E.g. if you play on vanilla Normal, it is x30, but if you add Extra Enemy Strength 100%, it becomes x34).
  • There are more options in coop. Maximum in sp is x78, and in coop it is x103!
  • In coop, score is shared by all players.
  • In coop, when one player dies, 10 000 is deduced from the score.
  • To get as much score as possible you have to kill more enemies on the levels (some are hidden), find secrets and pick items (yes even picking ammo counts).
  • You get a time bonus if you finish the level before estimated time. The faster you finish it, more bonus you get.

So, to get be that cool guy at the top of the leaderboard, you need to play each level on as high dificulty as you can, and kill as much enemies, pick everything in sight, and do it as quickly as possible.

Btw, their is a friends-only view of the leaderboads, so if you can't be the top 1 in the world, perhaps you can be top 1 among your friends?

(If I forgot anything, feel free to add below...)

Have fun and make your score rise up to the skies!

I happen to be top 3 in the world so far... on serious difficulty for the entire game on single player

It said I was fourth yesterday before I even finished it on Hard. Now halfway through on Serious, and it says I'm fifth. Doesn't sound right to me...

Um, the scores aren't static... people are advancing just as fast as you are. Faster, even.

Sorry, that didn't come out right at all...

What doesn't sound right is that I'm even in the top 100, let alone the top 5, without having finished a game on Serious, or that I was in fourth without having finished the game at all.

Oh, my mistake. Sorry about that.

I'd say give it a week or two and our numbers will appear less.... impressive . The game has only been out for a few days now. There's also a huuuuuge difference in scores between the different difficulties. The first time I played through the game, I did it on Normal. Now I'm working my way through on Serious, and on the early levels where I only had 1-2 million points before, I was now getting 12+ million.

I went from being around 46th after beating the game on Normal, to being somewhere around 35th after going back and beating the first two levels on Serious.

SP is 78x? Mental is x60, and I guess you get more bonuses for not loading or firing a bullet or shell...
Maybe?

No, you get bonuses for turning off armor, health items, and turning the extra enemy strength up.

It would be nice though if there was a large score bonus if you managed to beat a level without loading. As of right now, the best way to get a highscore is to simply save-scum your way through a level. Perhaps a specific score bonus depending on the level or a custom difficulty option that turns off saving/loading, but grants a x20 multiplier bonus would do.

Finished on Serious yesterday; I think I bumped Northelim from 3rd

Says he's close to finishing on Mental though, so I'm sure it'll be short-lived

EDIT: It was... 4th again

Since this turned to an e-peen thread, I'm on the 115th place in singleplayer. And am working to up it some more by playing through the game on Mental. Coop I don't remember atm, I think I might even be in the top 10 in it.

As of now, I' m not very far in the game, I spent all my time on the first 2 levels. lol

So, because I' m really really stubborn and kinda stupid, and not because of my skills, I am (for now) #1 on the maps Hatshepsut and Sand Canyon on mental (x78).

First one was kind of easy, but Sand Canyon! Man, that was HARD! Please people, don't beat me soon, let me enjoy my 2 seconds of glory! lol

I'll work on the other levels now, but I don't think I ll ever do them with that kind of difficulty. (Unless, someone else does it, just to prove a 36 years old man can still compete lol )

Question -

1) What happen if I delete my Serious Sam HD ? Will I lose my ranking at leaderboard ?

2) I plan upgrade my new PC can I backup my savegame to my new PC and continue with my ranking at leaderboard ?

Thanks

1) As far as I know all leaderboard and score data is hosted on Steam Cloud servers, just like Modern Warfare 2.
2) I believe so, you can continue with your ranking from backed up savegames.

EDIT: I almost forgot to say hello on my first post! Hey guys, long-time lurker and Serious Sam player here. I'm very happy to finally be posting here.

Not sure about the savegames, depending on how strict the anti-cheating measurements are, they might be bound to your hardware.

It doesn't exist. If it did, people would only use the Cannon from Metropolis onward.

Leafing through the scores last night after beating it, I saw a bunch in red marked Hacked!. What's that about? I thought cheat scores were disabled.

Good job! But how come it says you have a max possible secrets to be 98? And max possible kills to be around 7300? When I played it, the max secrets was 89...

You're not the only one like this though. Can anyone explain the secret and kill count difference?
