Default workshop redownloads all the mods

im sorry, but i seriously cant take this anymore. every day or two the workshop decides to randomly redownload all the mods i subbed to (which is like, 100?), so i have to waste one-two hours for nothing. the even more annoying part is that every two minutes the downloading fails and i need to restart the game/editor,so i have to stay in my computer for 1-2 hours, restarting the game every two minutes. is there any news or something about this getting fixed? because i simply cant take it anymore.

It was reported to Croteam a while ago, looking into it, but it might be Valve's fault. As for Valve, they are on vacation in Hawaii, that's why the SSHD Workshop is still not out. :/

I don't think it's Valve's fault, but I guess we'll hear soon enough.

Well then I guess it's good that I will take back my request to access the Steam Workshop for HD.

Valve is really getting on my nerves now.

Ok now I know whats the problem with BFE for me. Everytime I start the game there is another update, probably for the few costum maps I already had before Workshop was released. Yesterday for an event I downloaded about 1gb of content from Workshop. If now everytime I want to play BFE, I have to redownload it... there will be serious rage going on :/

i think its getting worse, not sure if its from my side, but it used to redonwload the mods every week or so,but now it redownloads it every 1-2 days, its really getting ridicoulous,i stayed so much time yesterday redownloading this shit, and finally when it was done i went to sleep. today after i got home and started working a bit in the editor, guess what? yes. again.

For me also. Just had to redownload 3.1gb for no reason at all. This appeared btw on the patch before the speedhack thing. I instantly deinstalled the game now and reinstalling it. If the problem keeps existing I feel betrayed because I simply cannot play the freakin game when I want to.

Just wanted to know that we'll try to fix this problem. Note that we didn't notice it here. Perhaps it has to do with the fact that we don't have such big numbers of workshop items in our installs.

We will try to setup a machine with a lot of items and wait until this appears on it. If we can get a repro on the problem, we'll do something about it.

I apologize for the inconvenience and thank you in advance for your patience.

I suggest trying to disable mods via the extras menus if you aren't using them. I haven't had this issue myself, and I keep mods disabled when I'm not using them (e.g Solais's Resource packs). And if you absolutely need to play you can unsubscribe all mods.

Could you please upload your Sam3.All.log and Sam3_Unrestricted.All.log files somewhere so we can examine them.

Just to let you know, Finzy, simply unchecking them in the Extras menu only disables it ingame. If you have to update it, you are still downloading it. But thinking back on it, I actually haven't had to download an update (Except for something I just got) when I stopped going into the patch betas. And then coming out of those to play with others.

I'd try it right now if I had a wired access point at my college, but I don't, so I can't really do it without telling you guys how it went over 12 hours from now.

@Alen thanks a lot,appreciate it.

@finzy i have all my unused mods disabled, but that does nothing. i also dont want to unsubscribe to all the mods because then that means i have to sub to all of them later anyway,so that doesnt help.

Unsubscribing helps though. Atleast I havent had to reupdate for now.. But since this was always kinda totally random I cant tell for sure just yet.

Hey I just got an update to SSHD. Does it have to do with adding Steam Workshop?

No, but it fixes the last bug that was hindering SSHD Ex's development.

(Also fixes the HACKER thing.)

Another annoying thing with workshop items is that whenever you want to download a new resource pack with different skins you have to manually delete every single one you dwonloaded/installed before that. Don't know about you, but it's really bugging me.

Okay something's up again with the Workshop. As of now, 32 mods for HD are missing which brings the total count to 51 instead of 83.

5 mods for BFE are missing which brings the count to 272 instead of 277.

Could have been removed. Some of the maps for SSHD weren't even for SSHD on the workshop. They were Trackmania maps. So maybe that has something to do with it.

You may be right in some regards Pan, but this happened before. Some got deleted, but they all came back slowly over a couple weeks timespan. Thing is when they came back, they were not the most recent uploads.

Yes, this is definitely a thing, my stuff disappeared as well, even though I still -have- them, just not listed. This happened before with the SSHD workshop, but never with the SS3 Workshop. And no, the Trackmania maps weren't deleted, they are still there.

EDIT: Strange, if you go to Top Rated All Time and wander around, they will suddenly appear again. Wtf.

Whew, at least the Trackmania tracks are still up! I was wondering where tracks made by dumbass pirates would be!

Man it's going haywire today. Now it's up to 91 for HD. I haven't seen 8 new mods.
