That was pretty useless to say, Pan, especially after he pointed out that he is practicing. Are you requesting a model to be made here?

Can i give you a suggestion?
Even if you're making stuff for Sam1, don't use milkshape, try something more serious like Blender, Maya or 3DS max (the exported mesh is compatible with milkshape, so you can convert it to a Sam .mdl later).
If you don't use one of those programs, you'll never be able to maximize your abilities.

Try doing some guns, they are easy to do (i basically learned to model by doing shotguns and rifles) and don't jump into organic stuff for now, that's really hard to make (and you'll probably need another program like ZBrush

Good luck!
And Batandy just offered some good advice. Blender would be an awesome place to start in my opinion. Though I'm the worst artist on this forum, I can gauruntee you that.

Are you making models for Serious Sam 3 in specific or which games? I'd move this thread to Serious Engine 3 forge if that's the case.

Given Kazuya's current reputation though I also have my doubts.

Not even close. When I draw a straight line it bumps into itself.

Nonsense, utgort! Do you fail when filling a circle with a color in MS Paint, using the the fill tool, like I often do? No, I thought not! Muhaha!

I make models for all games that have 3D.... Ok, I will do the drum shotgun, but I first need to change my working program from milkshape to blender... or a program that support and can export in MDL format!

@thekazuya0.60: Lets make a deal, you do your model for SS1, SS2, SSHD or SS3 BFE until Sunday and then you load it up.

Proof what you have us to offer.

You know where the tutorials are?

Lol, tell that to viper45 that worked on something even more easier, but took almost a month or so to finish it.

Really I tell you, these things aren't easy
I worked on a weapon myself too and it took 2 months untill I actually finished it.(Btw, talking about the spas I made for SS2)

MAN,MAN,MAN!!!! really!! then how it comes that i made a preety fine shotgun in 10 min, just 1 part is a bit square and maybe some more details, but i made a ripper chaingin with my own design in 10 min, with detail, over 1200 triangles!
will do it for ss HD

I'll give the download link for my 2 Milkshape 3D sample models, which I done to test my Modeler skill level so that i can go to a much harder model, the pipebombs grenade!

Don't rush something in just 10 min. These things need love and you should take your time <3

I do my models with full heart, but I'm really a bit un-patient, as i heavily practise for web design school, esspecialy concept arts as I would like to be a concept artist and make textures (or models) for Croteam, basicly i know stuff from all fingers in video game development, only thing that I still don't want to improve is codding, I stared with models before few days, and will change now to the Blender program, or maya... i don't know which is better...

also for the ripper, I'll do some details to look like the barrels have some holes and that it doesn't look like a full shaped stick (barrels)....

Just a suggestion, if you really want to get into modeling you can start your own showcase thread, post pictures and get critiques from others. Offering your modeling services right off the bat probably isn't the best idea because it can take a very long time to get a good grip on modeling.

Having a completed shotgun in 10 minutes really isn't a good sign. A good gun model usually takes me anywhere from 10 to 20 hours worth of work, possibly more depending on how detailed the gun is.

Edit: The 10-20 hour estimate is for the modeling phase only. Texturing/animating/etc adds significantly more time.

http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fb...levant_count=1

I will add a gps, ammo display on it, many details... the gun has 2 drum magazines each one of 50 bullets when one is over, it changes to the other, then he needs to reload, remove the 2 drum magazines, and a AK 47 type of load, i will add those in the third phase... i need to change my modeling program to a other....

i need to see which program can import - export in MDL format (that supports MDL, and OBJ) so that i can work for ss series and other games...

huh it's really bulky... thanks i will do the model for ss classic and a high detailed for ss3
the 10% done model you see there is done in 5 min

i will replace the tommygun with the ripper rewrite the tommygun code, it will fire 1.5 faster, like a minigun and will do like 2x demage... it will be a really cool weapon because you will see your enemies, buildings... on the liddle map screen on it, and how ammo do you have + a tommy gun with some minigun stuff is the best weapon for deathmach, like the minigun in serious vodka mod!
in ss3 it will replace the ar, ill do new reloading animations, it will have 50 bullets and the same stuff in ss classic, but it will be more handy to use

Well I have done it in my mind, how I remembered the Ripper, and actually I like that design more.
I can only finish it when I have a texture for it and I am still waiting
A year is gone, still nothing.

Kazuya it's always a really bad idea to offer services when you are practicing. I've gone down that road when I started something and it never ended well. I think since I've practiced I can make things of quality but they always ended up terribly. Hence my post. Shrinker calls it useless because that's Shrinker. But it's true. Offering services when you just start out doesn't normally end well. You might luck out and be great, or you might... not. It's all about reputation.

As Viper said, it can take hours upon hours to make anything of a standard/high quality. From what I've seen, you're making progress. That's good. But you've done the basic part. You'll need to wrap your head around the UV Maps and texturing of those models as well. Skills that not a lot of people have. I saw you criticise Devostators model earlier, and that made me frown. The one you made and the one he made are entirely different qualities. You should be asking the more experienced forum members (Devostator and Viper come to mind instantly) questions instead of critiquing their work, especially at this level of your modelling career.

Take it in stride and improve by learning from others or just give up now because not many people got far that way.

+1

Well said, couldn't have said it better myself.

-EDIT- I felt like I should add some constructive criticism. Kazuya, based on the few screenshots, it looks like you have a basic capability of modelling boxes, cylinders, spheres, and cones, but there is so so sooo much more to modelling than that. You have barely even scratched the surface of becoming a good and competent modeller. My best advice for you is to utilize the great resource you have here on these forums. There are some great modellers on this forum like Viper, Zocky, Misch, etc who I am sure would be more than willing to help a new modeller learn some things and provide some useful guidance. You are only shooting yourself in the foot by insulting people that could provide an invaluable resource to your growth.
