Default Anyone able to teach me how to animate things?

Not a full blown animation, obviously. I'm looking to learn in SED3.5 how to make something like a model on a map rotate clockwise on the spot continuously as the map is played. If anyone can teach me how to do that, I'd be very appreciative.

I'm assuming it's related to the Animated Mover entity.

making an entity rotate is not too hard to do,i can teach you a bit from my tiny knowledge, about how to create your own skeleton+animation, and then you can easily set the model to use that animation in the map.

lol thanks Noam, I hate it when people say "I'll help you via PM", cause they always do it when I google search something.

Like, maybe my game isn't working and I need to find the answer and the thread is solved via Pms and I'm like FUUUUUU. But yeah appreciate that tutorial.

PM being interchangeable with MSN or Skype or whatever they use at the time.

NOAM'S NOOBY TUTORIAL ABOUT HOW ANIMATING IN SED3.5

Note:this isnt a "pro" animating tutorial,rather a simple one

So what were going to do here,is basicly create a new skeleton and animations for a custom model.
well start by assigning the bones names in blender (could be named whatever you want to,since youre the one creating the skeleton, just remember what you named it)

http://imageshack.us/a/img51/5103/tut1yc.jpg

after were done with that,we export the mesh and load it in SED3.5,and save it.

http://imageshack.us/a/img210/5954/tut2u.jpg

Now download this Template ive made and open it.

http://imageshack.us/a/img89/3563/tut3d.jpg

this is just a model with no mesh,no skeleton or animations, however in it you can edit the skeleton and animations.
load your mesh into the model and save it as an other model.

http://imageshack.us/a/img443/9886/tut4oo.jpg

now finally to the part of the skeleton, change into skeleton editor, and create a new LOD

http://imageshack.us/a/img855/6425/tut5c.jpg

now create a new bone, and name it the way you named it in blender.

http://imageshack.us/a/img62/9936/tut6r.jpg
http://imageshack.us/a/img15/8468/tut7x.jpg

now you will see that a new bone was created, you can move it,rotate it and whatever, just put it so it will fit the place that you want to move (that you assigned)

http://imageshack.us/a/img547/2092/tut8.jpg

you can change its size in the LOD tab below>Bones>[your bone number]>Length

http://imageshack.us/a/img189/3918/tut9.jpg

you can create more bones as you wish, probally you already understood by youself how this works now,so now well move to the animating part.
change into animation editor, and create a new animset (name it whatever you want)

http://imageshack.us/a/img823/2903/tut10q.jpg

and a new animation... (still name it whatever you want)

http://imageshack.us/a/img521/3523/tut11.jpg

Now go over to manage envelopes

http://imageshack.us/a/img713/623/tut12n.jpg

you will get a list of your bones, simply select the bones you need to be in the animation (or click create all to select all of them),then click OK

http://imageshack.us/a/img824/7763/tut13r.jpg

Now you can move the bone around, and so will the part assigned to the bone. (dont move it)
go over to the animset tab below,go to animations, and choose your animation, and over there you can choose the number of frames you want to be in your animation, you can change that number whenever you want,in case you dont have enough frames/have too much frames,i need 24.

http://imageshack.us/a/img191/706/tut14.jpg

on the right side, you can see a "create key" button, this is basicly saving the bone's place in the frame, for example,if you moved the bone 30 degrees to the left and created a key for frame 12,in frame 12 the bone will be 30 degrees to the left. usually i like to keep the bone in the same place for frame 0,so press the "create key" button

http://imageshack.us/a/img836/5844/tut15.jpg

choose frame number, and select the bones that their position needs to be saved in that frame, and press ok.

http://imageshack.us/a/img818/1963/tut16.jpg

now in frame 0,the bone will be in the place you saved it. now do the same with other frames, changing the bone position with every single frame.
(be careful, because this is kinda tricky)

http://imageshack.us/a/img833/8946/tut17.jpg

after youre done with all the frames, your animation is ready, you can tap the play button to see how it turned out.

http://imageshack.us/a/img15/747/tut18.jpg

now you can go back to model editor and save, and there you go,your own animation.

im sorry if any detail given here is wrong or something,as i had to learn this by myself, and hope it helped you.

now if you will excuse me,im off to make some dinner.

The Blender part is not needed, you can add your weightmaps in SED as well, just the same way you're making UVmaps, just selecting the "W" instead of the "T".

Sorry for the necro, but this thing is actually cool, let's move this to its correct place and make it stuck as a tutorial.

I should totally look for more "lost tutorials" like this one, I only noticed it by accident.

This is really good. We just discussed that there is a serious lack of good SED3.5 tutorials.

I've followed the guide 'till the step where it says:
"now you will see that a new bone was created, you can move it,rotate it and whatever, just put it so it will fit the place that you want to move (that you assigned)"

It was fine untill the part where it says you assigned something, which I definitely didn't do.
I understand Noam meant connecting part of the mesh to the newly made bone, but how the hell do I do that?
~tried following the tut without 'assigning' anything, bone moves, mesh does not.

In Mesh Editor, you have to select the polygons/vertexes that you want the bone to move, then on the bottom right side, you have those letters. I think, under VM (Vertex Maps), you have W (Weightmap). Click that, then create a new Weightmap, while the polygons/vertexes are selected. Name it the exact same name as the Bone.
