Hey guys, you've probably heard of this project at some point, Noam, the leader of the project has finally released the 4th part of the Tennis project,

here is the description:

And you are going to need all the help you can get...

Introduction
The 7Smoke Map Tennis is a project where several mappers come together to create a unique Serious Sam experience, each map having been made by a different mapper, picking up where the last map left off, thus creating great variety in map style and level pacing. Now we are proud to bring you the fourth round of the 7Smoke Map Tennis, powered by the collaborative effort of fourteen mappers in total!

Story
In Tennis 4, you fill follow the story of Sam "Serious" Stone in an alternate timeline, where Earth was destroyed by one of Mental's elite commanders within his army, the valiant Solgar. As Sam pursues Solgar across many galaxies to fulfill his great lust for revenge, he finds help on a planet where two of Solgar's old allies have foreseen his true intentions. Now Sam must prevent an even greater terror from destroying the galaxy...

Welp, I guess I'll have to play this tomorrow.

Sorry, but SS4 might be delayed yet another week because of this.

The screenshots show some real potential this time around!

Alright, I'm playing it now. I'll be sharing my experiences with the levels as I complete them, and will "update" this post as I'm playing it. I write it "update", because obviously I'm not going to send this post until I'm done, but every thought here is "live" as I'm playing it.

Well, here goes!

Level 1

- Hmm, interesting environment
- I never realized that a torso-less arachnoid could work really well as an enemy, I like it.
- Interesting tree monsters
- Lots of z-fighting with the textures...
- Very improper invisible walls, yeesh. Also, seems to be some models have collision issues.
- There are no health and armor items on this level? Had to enable God Mode.
- Interesting final boss, still no health though.
- Some good potential in the author, still needs heavy refinement and experience.

Level 2

- Oooh shiny! Quite impressive!
- Maybe a little too much of a clusterfuck in the first battle.
- The first battle outside is much better
- Some quite impressive visuals, though some problem with the scale; then again, I'm not that good at that either
- Scaling on the bridge doesn't communicate it well if there's a hole in the collision or not
- The snowflakes fly upwards when I sprint sometimes???
- Shiny boss!
- Very impressive work! Definitely going to keep my eye on the author's future works.

Level 3

- Chase scene huh.
- Aaand instantly died. And now I'm spawned before the cutscene and the long waiting period. Great start!
- Barely visible and avoidable instant death traps wheeeee. God Mode On.
- Interesting idea, but faulty execution and really unforgiving difficulty.
- Still, I really like the idea.

Level 4

- .................................................. .......
- Moving on...

Level 5

- Quite basic design, not a lot of details
- HENG-ARRR bay!
- While visually plain, there's some good enemy placements. Some bad enemy placements as well. But shows effort.
- Seems to be a work of an amateur, but definitely there are some good vision it it. With experience, could grow a lot.
- Lava golem dies in lava....
- Okay, this biomech is kinda hilarious.
- The lava probably is a little too deadly. Then again, it's lava. But don't feel it got too much of a purpose in the level design.
- Yeah that was a thing

Level 6

- Shiny!
- Some stretched and buggy textures. Also everything kinda looks the same...
- One of these days, people might notice that the Scrapjack is badly designed even when you got more than just a single shotgun.
- This building is either floating, or the building model below it was copied from an official level, with the Spawn Flag disabled on Easy Difficulty, a common bug on some maps.
- Okay, this boss is bs.
- Kind of a let down on a level. Not very good visual or gameplay design. The battles at the end were especially annoying, I just killall cheated at the end, because I didn't find the endless streams fun. Also GodMode'd at the boss.

Level 7

- The obligatory "Finzy does another FFX thing" map.
- Looks interesting though.
- I opened a chest, and its lid launched me into the air
- Randomly teleports to chapter?
- It's 5 years later and still the same old FFX memes.
- I rate this level Finzy/5 IGN.

Level 8

- How cinematic.
- Ohey, a SS1 fan level!
- There's some real imagination in this level. Simple, but effective.
- I do like the increased movement speed.
- Huh, at a certain point, the lights just disappear, like if a Probe Light or Visibility bug would be present. Then appears again. Then flashing. Seems like a bug.
- Wait, the world is moving beneath me??
- Maybe the light changing is not a bug?
- Blurry vision too... near those glowy bits... radiation?
- Well this was an interesting map.

Level 9

- Ohey, it's KingValley from Sam2000
- Fullybright rocks.
- Lol, rocks that are just kinda floating there, with their missing polygons visible
- That ended suddenly
- Kind of a bland level. I personally found it boring.

Level 10

- That's a sudden start. Not a fan of the player starting the level battling. Not that good design.
- Kinda like the idea of the map though.
- "Have a ton of kamikazes spawn right in front of your face!"
- Well, this map definitely felt like a Tennis One Week map.

Level 11

- Shiny cutscene place.
- Hmm, finally some greenery.
- This map feels so refreshing after those before. Also, kinda like Halo?
- Yeah, this base area feels kinda like Halo. Not that's a bad thing, mind.
- What's with all the invisible walls just because a character talks?
- Overall, not too shabby of a level. Too repetitive battles and level design, but overall really enjoyable, and interesting to look at.

Level 12

- Cutscenes
- Z-fighting
- SOLGAR'S MIND
- Uhh, I'm stuck? Used Ghost...
- Okay...

Level 13

- Exposition!
- Injokes noboby gets!
- And nothing much else.

Level 14

- By Admir's Beard, look at that!
- Welp, a bouncer overbounced me.
- This level got the most sane battle design so far.
- Also, this level also really shows how weird is that AircraftPuppets can only be harmed by explosives. Glad that was removed.
- Damn bouncers!
- SHINY
- DIFFERENT ENDINGS
- Lol that boss monster looks funny. But I LOVE the mechanics! Not that the attacks ever hit me, but it's perfect for coop, something SS rarely does well. Very WoW like!
- So yeah... Best map? Best map. Great that this was left for the last.


...So yeah, I guess this was the most interesting Tennis so far. I guess some maps weren't done in a single week this time, and that definitely helped them. So yeah, cool.

Yeah, it was updated. It's pretty much the older version of danker's level, he insisted that we add it in.

(But I would'nt recommend playing it too much)
