Yeah, you can only add new maps, new character model, new HUD (as you can make HUD skins in Rev), you can change models and whatnot, but you can't do anything that needs the SDK, like new enemies or weapons.

As for the other, I don't think that you can decompile already made mods if you don't have the source.

Can't you guys implement a new SDK system or something? I mean I'd really like to play the game with SDK changed, or to play old mods like Parse Error in Rev, but it seems like a no.

Yeah, Parse Error and the like won't work. A new SDK system most likely won't be possible due to reasons I mentioned, but who knows. I don't want to say no, we'll see how it goes.

In SSHD and SS3, enemies use a generic entity and exposed data-based values that you can change using the editor, making creating enemies to be a relatively simple job.

In SS1, every single enemy was its own hardcoded entity, the only way to make a new one is to code a new entity from scratch (or modify the code of an already existing one).

Solais is misinformed, we actually have a scripting system in place that we're still working on which will eventually replace the old SDK. It will allow you to do a lot of stuff.

(In fact, for the more programmer-minded people here, we even planned a simple IDE for debugging your scripts and actually stepping through your code.)

To Rev team: do You modernize levels from FE? I mean add enemies and weapons from SE?

No. And that's not really "modernizing" it. I think it would make the progression of the game more boring, because new weapons and enemies are always the things to look forward to in these kinds of games. Introducing them early would actually make the game more boring, imo.

But besides that, there won't be any changes to TFE content, since the project is about giving the original TFE+TSE content, with an extra campaign included. (Besides all the other features.)

It will be more hard to defeat Aludrian Highlander especially in cave on Moon Montains

Btw I suggest to add dead line for enemies when fall down.

FE Levels won't change, they are from FE they keep being FE. Changes would create conflicts.

Well, we had a discussion about adding a TFE Highlander or something similar, but the Highlander in SSHD have the same projectiles as in TSE, and it's not that difficult.

But member about change "give weapons" because Laser gun is replaced with Cannon. Do You insert FE maps in SE editor? If yes, You should change those weapons.


To Solais: look in FE you can defeat Aludrian H with 15 rockets in SE 50 if I'm not in mistake.
And projectiles: in FE you can destroy with any weapon, in SE only with cannon.

It's an editor for all, there is only one editor. And giveweapons has not changed, I don't see what you are talking about...?

As far as I know, you can still kill a Highlander with the same amount of rockets. It never needed 50, lol. Maybe for a Highlander's Bride.

@Rakanishu: import FE maps in SEd of SE, and play in SE 3 maps: Suburbs, Sewers and Metropolis (every separately). You start with cannon not with laser gun.

Yes, in TSE, the Highlander is more resistant to the cannon, and this was made in purpose, so the enemy actually poses a threat. That won't be changed.

Since SE is simply all of FE + more content, it's simple to merge the two into one game and keep the same code base.

FE had not the same weapons as SE, that's why it doesn't read the same give weapons.
But as far as I know, it used the same give weapons, I used both editor in the past and I never encountered any difficulties with the give weapons, maybe it's an exception for laser and stuff...
