For the tutorial (You can only import the architecture as .raw files)
http://www.seriousengine.com/wiki/%2..._levels_to_SS2

and then download these SS1 texture packs that have been converted for use in SED2 by TwL
SS:FE- http://files.seriouszone.com/download.php?fileid=1335
SS:SE- http://files.seriouszone.com/download.php?fileid=1336

It's really only the architecture you can convert along with the textures, music and sounds (You can just move the sound and music files from the SS1 folder into an SS2 folder of your choice). Nothing more

You'll have to make up your own versions of the SS1 enemies yourself (It's not as hard as you think, it requires no coding) and animating the doors can be a bit tough

Good luck and don't hesitate to ask for more help

Double-click a poly in the worldbase you're trying to convert and it should select some if not all of the polys. Then you just hold the shift key and keep double-clicking and such until you have all the polys you need

Just make sure you have all needed polys selected so you don't end up noticing gaps when you've re-created the object/room in SED2 (It's so annoying, take it from me)
