Updated the post - now up to 85 tracks

Checking now to see if Serious Sam 2 on PC and Xbox had any differences in music. I'm doubting as the .gro files in the PC have xbox related txt files.
However there may be some audio tracks in the videos that are not in the music files

This, I can use. And will. Somewhere. I know.

Oh wow, some of the Xbox only tracks are what was used as the basis for SS2 songs and some were also used in the SS2 cutscenes.

Awesome work, OoPpEe. I've always wanted the new songs from the Xbox release. Some of it is great.

You said that you "already converted them all to ogg". Well NE and GBA game I can understand, but does it also apply to WMAs from Xbox version and tracks from beta (they should use Vorbis just as TFE and TSE I guess)? I don`t think that playback of Windows media audio or OGG Vorbis format using media players like Winamp can be considered this challenging nowadays to make you transcode them considering low quality of original WMAs?

BTW you mentioned 2 betas? The 1st one should be beta of TFE but what about another one?

The other one is the TSE public test, released about 3 or so months before the final game came out. Its basically the same as the "official" TSE demo.

Yeah it was from TSE beta/demo - where the first map was completely different (well 2 levels merged into 1). It's featured on the site:
http://files.seriouszone.com/download.php?fileid=1339

This beta/demo had some tracks that are not present in the final version of the game

For the WMA to OGG part. I haven't seen any maps use WMA except for the Xbox versions of the game. So I was unsure if the PC version supported them or not. I figured make them OGG like the rest of the music on the PC for consistency, and not to mention it dropped the file size a lot.

Yes the game only has just under 30 tracks (levels share tracks); I even ripped some of the non-music tracks which are in the FMV's (Croteam intro, Gallery Intro and I remade the intro video music as it has gun shots in it).

There's only 31 levels. The other 10 are "Extras" many share same music as they're the same "theme". I did think it was little but after playing all 41 levels, yep (almost) every track is basically shared with 3-4 levels (3 versions per track).

Feel free to share them around

OoPpEe, you made a mistake with the Xbox exclusive music. You packed the old PC music of Karnak in the archive. The level Karnak is split up in two parts, the first part is in daylight and uses the Luxor music. The second part is at night and uses the Karnak music from the PC (the one in your archive). Instead, Luxor has new music (the folder you want is called AmonComplex, it has the fight music with the electric guitar).

It's confusing because all new music is in a new folder, but Croteam moved the Luxor music to the KarnakEnterComplex folder, the KarnakEnterComplex music to KarnakEnterComplex2, and the new music is in the AmonComplex folder.

Ah I just extracted the music from the Xbox's gro file and then compared what was present already in the PC and deleted it, so all that was left was the Xbox tracks. I used the HD:TSE + Fusion DLC (to compare the track differences) and didn't hear a difference - they must of kept that sorting when they did the HD remakes.

Hmm, I'm looking through the Fusion DLC gro now and it's the same as FE classic: KarnakEnterComplex is Karnak, AmonComplex is Luxor. But AmonComplex is the Xbox exclusive in the Xbox gro.

Also, you wouldn't happen to know anything about an xmv codec, would you?

Oh I've been trying. I am looking for a player so I can simply rip the audio that way.

[Edit: May of found a player - will keep you updated. Also thanks for the info on the soundtrack I am actually planning on making just a FULL Serious Sam music pack]

Nope; claimed to do "XMV to WMV" but when you opened the program - it was the opposite (like usual).

So far the only way seems to be the Turok Evolution method.
Open the ROM directory, replace the intro XMV with another XMV file and boot the game up, your video will play. Then you can use FRAPS or Goldwave even to record the audio.

I hope VGMtoolbox should do the trick. Try its video demultiplexer feature found in miscellaneous section among stream tools and if you`re lucky it will extract audio in RAW format.
Also did you find any exclusive tracks in SS2 for Xbox?

None I found for the SS2 Xbox, infact the .gro files in both are almost identical (they have the exact same # tracks, and all are the same name - only diff is Xbox uses wma and PC uses ogg) - the PC version even has:
Copyright_xbox.txt
inside the All_PC_01.gro

I will be sure to give it another go through again. However my guess is the PC and Xbox versions of Sam 2 are identical as they were released at the same time (Oct 11, 2005)

I do have VGMToolbox, I will give it another test with the movies.

Gives a out of memory error when opening, so looks like the Turok method will have to do.

It's the SS1 Xbox that has exclusive tracks. SS2 and PC are identical - manually went through the tracks - only difference is the format. Xbox = wma, PC = ogg
