Loved max 1.
Liked max 2.
Max 3 just looks like it is going to be a modern day shooter, with max looks 1/3 of the time.
Definitely waiting for a demo, some reviews, and user reactions before even thinking of giving them my money.

Loved Max Payne 1 and 2, but this... Dunno... Some sequels are better left unseen/un-played/etc... Still, hearing the theme and max's voice brings back memories... Heh.

This looks like some kind of GTA IV dlc, or maybe Just Cause dlc...

They can play that music as long as they like, it doesn't fit anymore. The atmosphere is like half of what makes the originals great. Now they should just play Beach Boys with all that sun.

Here are some funny videos, just to be sure you watched them:

YouTube Video: Hitler learns about Max Payne 3

YouTube Video: Max Payne jungle bullshit

That trailer didn't get my hyped, but I'm still interested. I agree with AntonioR that it looks like some sort of a GTA dlc which doesn't fit with Max Payne style.
I might give this game a try once the price lowers.

I agree. When the trailer started and I heard the music, I was like "Awesome! Max Payne is back!" And then when it played again at the end of the trailer, I was like "Yeah... this song is totally out of place..."

You'd think that when revisiting an old franchise like this, their top priority would be to stay true to the originals.

why did they make BA max look like a 40 year old fatso getting ready to relive his glory days in the midst of his mid-life crisis?

Because that's what he is now. A 40 year-old fatso trying to relive his glory days.

Well, so much for this game.

WTD is with these stingy arsed devs, where you cant carry a buttload of guns?
It didnt work for DNF, and I am SURE it wont work in Max 3.

TL;DR and I almost always enjoy reading long articles... I really can't get my hopes up about this one. Max Panye 1 and 2 form a perfect story for me and I refuse to believe there can be a sequel. It might be a good game or not, but I refuse to see it as a sequel to THE Max Payne games, at best I'll imagine it's some alternate universe.

Even more
Quote:
Max can only carry two guns with him at any time, three at a push: wearing a double pistol holster around his chest, Max can pick up and dual wield any pistol-sized guns he finds, mixing and matching when the situation arises. Picking up a two handed gun like a shotgun holsters the two pistols, and if they’re reselected, Max unceremoniously drops the shotgun to the floor. If just one of the handguns is selected however, Max carries around the shotgun in his other hand, ready if you want it back.
Sometimes you can only carry 2 guns.

Max Payne was just awesome, Max Payne 2 had a hard time living to its predecessor but it was still rather good.

After all the mood, the setting and the "noir" effect was still almost the same.

But a sweat stained, fat, bald tourist in an african location? That's just "meh!". Excluding the guns, its just reminds me of myself.

I'll still buy it though, because I'm a Max Payne whore and I earn a salary just to increase the amount of money a company can make using the Max Payne franchise.

Also, I have no self respect and am a prostitute for the gaming companies.

Just look at the difference in cover art. "Max Payne" 3 will probably be a good game, but it just isn't a Max Payne game. When I read Rockstars interviews it feels like the only big thing about previous games was bullet-time. What about New York and noir, those comic-style cutscenes, interactive environments (I really like pressing all stuff in MP1 to see what will happen), Captain Baseballbat Boy and those other TV shows, hallucination levels...

Ah, the voiced-comics were really great! I think they were about 1 hour ++ long in each game, they had great voice acting and I loved the art-style in them. They really felt unique. Hard-Reset also has some neat comics as between level story-telling devices, but they're nowhere as good. Still, they're fun too.

The TV shows were also awesome! And I loved how they made the TV show Dick Justice for Max Payne 2 as a reference to the generic-bad-guy's gun's name in Max Payne 1.

That box art is pretty much the antithesis of Max Payne.

Thanks for the link.

I'm still not getting my hopes up, but no regen and use of cover (as long as its not as ridiculous as GTAIV) is actually good news for me.

The only question that I really wanted answered has not been made.

"Why the %@$# did you #$$rape the Max Payne franchise by moving him to Brazil and shaving his head you idiots?!"

I guess that will be answered in the contents of next interview

Ugggg.
Was really getting into until this:
Quote:
Max Payne has a long, acclaimed history and is more than capable of standing alone as a third-person action shooter on its incredibly sophisticated and cinematic blend of story and gameplay, and that is the kind of game we set out to make, alongside our ambitions for competitive multiplayer within the Max series through Max Payne 3
REALLY?
MP?

Yea, when I read these interviews I only get upset. When I read their comparison between MP3 and MP1/2 I am not even sure if they mean the games I have played.

Why didn't they just make "Die Hard - The video game" instead of this ? WHY !?

They obviously didn't have the balls to start a new franchise, but "Die hard" would fit better than "Max Payne".
