Default Mischievous's Forge

I have no idea why it took me so freaking long to finally get off and remake this thing. But lately I've been mapping (oddly I got the grove at around the same time I got it last year.) so, I got Mongo to bug me every single time we met, to make this thing, and finally here it is.

Hmm let's start with some old stuff.

-----Maps-----

Remember Ye Olde Towne ?

My pride and joy, the first map I ever spawn.
Oh I made this thing day and night, and even the other times too.
Wasn't really playable though......

Download!

----------

The Serious Edge

Here's a map that is both good looking and playable at the same time
Made at the beginning of this year...or last year if you're can still read this in 2012

Download!

BTW, that's the sun set version, if you want to play on the original sunny Edge use the next link, but I have to warn you, it's a bit too sunny.

Download!

----------

Survival in the Morning

Features:
Aforementioned Gnarrs
Kamikazes
Were bulls
Walkers
Spiders
Kleers
And Khnums, Scrapjacks, Rocketeers and Harpies as special event enemies that randomly spawn from time to time.
And also featuring, guest star, the infamous SandWhale.

Original Map Thread (More screenshots of it's awesomeness)
'Survival in the Morning' Thread

----------

Golden Downfall

More rain for you!

More Screenshots of Golden Downfall

Download!

----------

There Goes The Neighbourhood

For you CoD heads. IT wasn't really supposed to look cody though.

Download! v1.1

Original Map Thread (More screenshots of it's awesomeness)
'There Goes The Neighbourhood' Thread

-----PlayerModels-----

Krystal (from Star Fox Adventures) for Serious Sam HD , and Serious Sam 3

Original Post With Screenshots
This was one of my most ambitious projects, here's a tale of trial, error and how it was made!
Part 1
Part 2
Part 3

-----Other-----

BTW Serious Sam 2 Spiders!

I made these back, when me and Solais were at it like crazy for his Forgotten city maps. They are like a mapper's too, tested and ready to be used in your maps at will. They are completely prepped with decal stains, HUD splatter effects, particle effects, custom animations made by yours truly, and set with the standard suicidal behavior.

Download!

----------

Sadly that sums up my releases for HD. But that will change soon. I will use this first post as a list so don't forget to check it

Here's some stuff I've been doing while in the mists following the S! Catastrophy, that I haven't, won't, will not, never will, or should never but probably will release.

One of those, is my ambitious Dismal Swamp.

That was actually on my show case, that I made last year.

I used the light rays every where back then, as I thought that they were the coolest effect that I have ever seen. That has not changed, nor have I given up on this thing. Now, from a simple map to a 2 map pack, I have blown this to a full sized, multi-environment story, that features; villagers, swamps, rocks, blown dust and crashed space ships...

Also new enemies, kleer planet like levels, jumping puzzles, mechanic puzzles, weird nature, mushrooms, maybe furries, green lava, epic battles on the edge of disabled spaceship engines suspended miles above the ground, The Sprite (the original goal for this "sam goes for some reason and does some thing for some other reason level), and an interesting story line that may involve weird and interesting characters. I always like how Terry Pratchet features a humorous and sarcastic Death every now and then in his "Disk World" stories

Next year I plan to have another image and to have given up on most of those ideas.
----------
Here's something SHINY!

Also these things.

Also here's a map that was like Serious Edge, but only on the ocean front.

Unfortunately I found out, and this is sometihng something Zocky told me before I started this, after I spend 5 months on this. And that is that "Ocean Front - The least possible optimized idea for a MP map." This damn thing was a total fail.

And finally, this really cool desert map that I gave up on the very instant I heard that ss3 takes place there.

So in a way, I spend this year, making maps and giving up on them somewhere right before I finish them. But on the bright side, I have tons of custom models and assets now, not even mentioning all the game model imports I made just for the fun of it

And now I'm working on a completely different map. That is MP again, and is going along great. Testing it with said Mongo, and still tweaking it out, but that's a story for later....

Well, finally** got up and did it, eh? Heheheheh
I like the Black Swamp thing, it is well done so far for what it is suppose to be. And you shouldn't have gave up on the desert map as it looks like one of the bset, imo. Would be a good "waiting device" for SS3.
The Serious Edge on the coast looks very nice, but only if SS had mroe udnerwater monsters. The electro-fish isruined in TSE HD in my opinion... Ragdoll was disabled and if it kind of see-through up close. Anyways back on topic--Very nice work man! Keep it up, and I cannot wait to play some of the unfinished conent if it is ever released.

Oh right! The Spiders! I will add them.

And yes I will finish the swamp level, that's the plan at least. Right now I'm working on a refresher MP map, and when that's done, and it is almost that, I will seriously start the Swamp

LD if you ever plan to make an ssf2, I'll be there And don't frown, I wasn't this good back then, so it wouldn't have mattered even if I was here .

Edit: Added the spiders.

Don't bitch that you never finish maps, at least you release some of them.
I'm the one who never releases anything, how do you think I feel?

Not planning on doing any remakes anytime soon, but if there are enough volunteers we could maybe complete the original project.

Lo and behold, Golden Downfall, my mapping rust removal map before I seriously start The Dismal Swamp.

Featuring a completely destructive Environment, that is more than capable of crushing players, though the chance of that is really slim.

And a full distant lightning script that I have yet to get to work client side.

All the models are detailed as hell, the stairs alone have 1k polygons Thanks to the magic of LODS, this horrible practice of adding 2k+ polygons on every single model works perfectly
Also it has all sorts of other cool small details, like water running down surfaces, great terrain detail, smooth texture blending and so on. But I will show that sutff off later when I get all the bugs out of it

I'd love to see these breathtaking environments in some playable maps.

Serius edge was cool, what a pity I never had a chance to play it

Ijn general, that's quite impressive portfolio of incomplete stuff.

Aww it just wouldn't be Deep without bumming us all out

Any how what do you mean LD, like have a map where we all take on the form of our avatars and act like it? I've always thought of that but never really considered it. Would be cool, like in that Spider Man cartoon series where he was taped on some planet for some reason ? and he used some teleproter thingy to get all sorts of characters. Was pretty cool.

Thanks for the other comments yall, they're making me map faster

Thanks all, Golden Downfall is almost ready, I just need to get the damn lightning to work client side as well, and also stop wasting my time with this fallen autumn leaves material I started doing for no reason. It's so fun though, explosions cause a temporary rain of leaves, and if a reptolid fells, leafs fly everywhere ...wait what was I doing again?

What the hell are you talking about ? I was playing Star Fox the other day, and they had this leaves covered floor and when you run about, leaves would fly everywhere. I liked the idea so much that I decided to recreate it in Serious Sam. I DLed a 2000px+ texture, tiled it, and used alpha channels to separate 9 different leaves from it. Then I arranged those in a 3 by 3 grid and used them for particles. Turned out awesome

Shooting rockets at the floor has never been more fun

Anyhow, in actual news, here are some wall details.

This thing is coming along better than I hoped for.

Why not have the walls dip inward as well? If all your warping is done the same way it doesn't look as good. You could even try a wave of rise and fall. Just a thought.

LD, I see where you're aiming at. But that is surprisingly more complicated then having them dip outwards. But I like the idea, and I might just be crazy enough to implement it , Thx
