Heya, in b4 Crippler & Raka !
Today Crippler and I decided to start some new projects on Serious Sam HD. Here is like a showcase and each done project will be sent at the workshop with the right link and this post will be regulary updated when something new will come. So, the main goal about our FIRST project is going to be a total conversion of weapon models and player models from the famous game Cube 2: Sauerbraten.

We've started to create the player models first.
And here is the IronSncout x10k

Little more progress for today, here is captain cannon, for the moment, the Iron Snout and captain cannon don't have any animation for the moment, crippler will do it, meanwhile i'm making the other models left, also, the ogro (not shown yet) is not a md5mesh file, so I can't import it in Blender for the moment, it's a md2 file, maybe I'll find a way to get an add-on to open it (but I think this md2 file is from the beta ogro, and there's another file 'ogro.blend' which I dunno how to open. Blender doesn't have any blend file importation, I'll search for a file importer for blend files, maybe there exists one).

We've just converted them and then we put the texture, the animations will be done tomorrow. The skins won't use new animations, yet. Though the weapons will sure use new ones!

I'm working on animations, I think that this work will be done in 4-5 days. (I suspended other projects I'm working on to focus on this). When all is done this will be uploaded in workshop, then we start to work on weapons mod.

Crippler has animated Captain Cannon but the model is pretty large and he has used the standard skeleton which makes the model looking ugly and glitchy, he's going to try if it will be better using Ughzy's skeleton... let's see. Some screenshots will come soon today, will also send some gift screenshots to show how they look ingame! Also, meanwhile Crippler is animating models, I've done MrFixit model which I'll show soon, I'm right now converting Inky model and will find a solution about Ogro after this.

Yes we got some problems with the captain cannon, the model is too large compared to its skeleton, we must change the skeleton, we've tried with Ughzy's skeleton but doesn't fit with the arms, Cucurbito has the perfect skeleton but some things must be done too, and crippler has to check the bones names so he can animate it. After all the skins (Iron Snout x10k and Mr Fixit, we'll try about Captain Cannon then we'll see for Inky player model, crippler hasn't checked it yet, and then I'll search a way to convert the Ogro).

well uhh, doesnt look to problematic tbh,change the model a bit so it will fit the skeleton.
thats what i did with most of the models. like the SS2 NPC'S,they are extremly short and unfitable,but after messing with the model i fixed it.

Yes, the model has been changed when we've used the standard skeleton but the width is too small compared to the height and that's really ugly, that's a bad idea, sorry.

Finally. Inky player model is finished, now Captain Cannon and Ogro have to be done before we release the Cube 2 Skin Pack.
For skeleton and model reasons the Inky player model use Ugh Zan's skeleton, that means it uses the same animations as Ugh Zan. Isn't it pretty cool?

We've actually got some problems with Captain Cannon, its model has a big width which is not possible to use with the standard skeleton, Crippler has tried to use cucubrito's skeleton which is perefect for the model though, but the problem is that the stupid cucurbito the pumpkin doesn't have jump and firing animation, and the model is also quite large though, we'll have maybe to reduce its size a little. Crippler is right now trying to see if Ugh Zan's skeleton could fit with the skin but some modifications of course have to be done. In my opinion the animations won't fit with the model itself, we'll have to think long about the improvements we'll have to do. We've tried it ingame and it's really buggy though :

We've decided not to put Captain Cannon into the model pack due of lots of problems. Maybe in the future when we'll find a way to animate it well using a good skeleton we'll put it, for the moment there is no way. Anyway I've imported the Ogro which is actually a blend file, it's also a Quake 2 model so the amount of polygons is lower than the other models. Here is a screen when I've just imported it into SED 3, then I'll have to put the textures and Crippler will have to animate it if we don't encount any problem.

After the skins release, Crippler and I have recently begun to work on the weapons which took actually some time to animate them correctly, for the moment, nothing from those are finished. The weapon converstions and animations are clearly done for now, we've added hands to nearly all the weapons. We still have some things to finish from the first person weapon models, The double shotgun needs a second hand for reload animation, the minigun is not spinning when the player fires, the grenade launcher's projectile is not completely done, there is no explosion sound, we will use Sauebraten's grenade explosion sound and there is no explosion sprite. So, firts of all, our goal after this is to fix the weapons size and position in third person, then we will use health, armor and ammo models from Sauerbraten but we have noticed a little problem which we've found the problem yet:
Sauerbraten uses less health and armor items than SSHD. This is our ideas for health, and armor:

Health :

- 1 health = SS pill
- 10 health = 25 health from sauer with pink cross
- 25 health = 25 health from sauer with green cross
- 100 health = health boost

Armor :

- 25 = Yellow armor using Sauerbraten's model.
- 50 = Green armor using Sauerbraten's model.
- 100 = Blue armor using Sauerbraten's model.
- 200 = Red amor using Sauerbraten's model.

After the models, we've decided to put the right sounds for the right weapons from Sauerbraten, but not only for weapons, our project will also replace sounds from, as I said, weapons; bouncers; teleports; jumps; explosions. But everything will be optional, we have first released a skin pack, then we will release another pack in which there'll be weapon models (with WEAPON models, sounds, and ammo models), then another pack using every other sounds (bouncers; teleports; jumps; explosions), and another pack with other models, health, armors, power ups (only available for serious damage, because Sauerbraten uses only one pup). All those packs will be released at the steam workshop in a single collection : Sauerbraten Full Pack.




Anyway, back to the topic: the weapons. The chainsaw is clearly animated but the chain has still some problems, we'll look into it deeper later.

The colts are fully finished in first person and in third person.

The Double Shotgun is fully finished right now except that we have to add the second arm to complete the reload animation.

The minigun is pretty okay for now but we'll have to make it spinning when the player is firing with it.

The Rocket Launcher is completely finished in first person but we will have to fix the third person weapon position.

The Grenade Launcher is kept to be worked on, we'll have to put an explosion sprite and an explosion sound. The third person weapon position has to be worked on too.

The sniper will be kinda modified, in Sauerbraten it doesn't have scope, we keep the scope zoom not to avoid the sniper but it will be weird zooming without scope - anyway if people don't want to use the scope the damages will be the same when the scope will not be on. We'll have to reduce the size of the third person item and change the position.

The Sauerbraten Item Pack is a project started by Agent Crippler and Rakanishu on the 13th July 2013.
As our second part of our plan is done, we've planned to remake the most maps as possible from sauerbaten, this project will take long to do because of remaking each map one by one correctly with the less fails as possible will be clearly long. I'm not sure all the maps will be available but we will do the best as possible.

Available Features :


- Chainsaw from Sauerbraten
- Colt from Sauerbaten (also availble for Serious Sam Double Colts)
- Double Shotgun from Sauerbraten
- Minigun from Sauerbraten
- Rocket Launcher from Sauerbraten
- Grenade Launcher from Sauerbraten
- Sniper Rifle from Sauerbraten (Does the same damages non-scope as scope activated - 100 in deathmath - 300 in coop)

- All ammos from Sauerbraten available except Colt Ammo because there is no colt ammo in Serious Sam (SG, MG, RL, GL, SR ammo)
- Also contains Sauerbraten ammo models with custom logos on ammo that doesn't exist from Serious Sam in Sauerbraten (Flamer, Lasergun + Cannon ammo)

- Yellow armor (+ 25 armor)
- Green armor (+ 50 armor)
- Blue armor (+ 100 armor)
- Red armor (+ 200 armor)

NOTE: The colors from armors are respected by Serious Sam's armor colors, not from Sauerbraten's ones.

- Pink crossed health (+10 health)
- Green crossed health (+ 25 health)
- Red crossed health (+ 50 health)
- Health boost (+ 100 health)

NOTE: The colors from the health items are respected by Serious Sam's colors because Sauerbraten has only a Red crossed health model (+ 25).

Known bugs:
- Minigun not spinning.

Because they primarily get played competitively in multiplayer deathmatch, not singleplayer.

Well Singleplayer is secondary in Sauerbraten, it's more a deathmatch game like Quake.

Cube 2 skins pack is already finished tho, the weapons are finished too.
We will wait a little before making Red Eclipse pack, but we've already planned to make this.
