Default 1781kb Entities

Hello, got small problem.

I modded pretty much entities for fe (No redscreen in 1st person camera, rear camera, color interface, 16/9 fix and corpse sounds). Every time when i release the entities, it have 1781 kb size, its over 100kb bigger than original. And that size is causing bad syncs when i want play multiplayer. It have same size even on fresh, non modded sdk.

I asked one guy wich compiled for me dlls with color hud and corpse sounds.. and file size was near original size (1621kb) and i had no syncs at multiplayer.

What is making entites that big even on non modded one?

This is highly dependent on your compiler configuration, maybe you changed some optimization flags?

The SDK doesn't come with a compiler. That is a part of msvc.

Maybe you're building a debug build instead of a release build? Could also be that the Windows SDK you're using is including some more (different) code than intended due to reasons, but I'm not sure if that's even likely to happen with MSVC6..

No, that wouldn't matter. Is this a recent thing you noticed? Like it only started doing this a little while ago?

It began when i started messing with ss code, when i started doing alpha remake.

This is very strange. I tested it on emulated windows xp x32 and still same...
Tested on win 7 laptop and too 1781 kb...
I asked other guy and he told me, that the reason could sit in vc++... also he told me, about not installing version with sp6.. (I installed other version where was no sp .. probably.)

"Messed it up" is a relative term, it probably changed some behaviors in the runtime, which would cause more code and possible desyncs..

First try no service packs. Then backup your msvc and slowly install one pack at a time until you figure out which one is causing the problem.

If it still doesn't work with no sp then there is something very weird going on.

Well, again reinstalled wihout sp. Later with sp6 (I didn't found older sp, only this was), too installed.

And still, same size.. Its imposible, that other people have correct size, i have all time that feral 1781..
Maybe somehow i set wrongly sdk? Or else..

That looks fine.. (though why is the Bin folder an include dir? ) perhaps some includes are still different from the previously installed service pack? Try uninstalling VC6, then make sure Microsoft Visual Studio folder is gone (delete it), then re-install again.

You said before about compiler configuration and optimization flags..
Where i can find them?
And about compiler configuration, you mean that in msvc or ecc.exe?

MSVC of course. Ecc comes pre-built in the SDK, so that should be fine. (Unless you're accidentally using the debug version of Ecc, perhaps it generates different sources? Not sure..)

Either way, check binary paths then, and also MSVC project settings.

Could you tell wich binary paths (These where .dll are coming out?)

Also i tried messing with project configuration. I disabled 2 options in Link tab (Generate debug info and generate mapfile.) After compiling i got -21kb on released file (1760 now). So reason can sit project in config.

Wich project config is optimal, to get original or near original file size?

Release configuration should use Release binaries, Debug configuration should use Debug binaries. Debug information already shouldn't be set in Release configuration, so that would mean you changed it yourself somehow?

No, it was allready set, on release configuration.

EDIT:
Its interesting, that entities are bigger than orignal, but if im releasing game.dll, it have original size (217 kb)...
