Our lord, the SLAwww, is making great strides as we speak. We just have to keep calm and believe in him.

This respect he must earn himself and/or his Team. If he delivers us SSO.

Until now he is a talented Russian Mapper with the promise of: Bringing SSO to SS and us.

I learned from Kazuyas Beta Project & SS Next Encounter HD project how fast promises can turn into Empty Promises.

And i don't praise somebody who makes Empty Promises.

But SLAwww is at least kind enough to give us hope; to give us a glimpse of alpha SS with the two SSO trailers. Not to mention the kickass screenshots too.

I don't mind and in fact wishes for more trailers and screenshots, but he said enough is enough, so let him go full speed on development instead of wasting time on screens and trailers.

Screens and Trailers are proofs of Working in Progress. If these exists it is a good sign.

Every Modder/Mapper who releases something in Public, uses his work as Advertising of his skills.

If you wanna reach a high count of players for your Mod/Map you need Advertising.

This is how our world works, if you selling as farmer Apples on a Market for 1, for example, you better shout out loud '1 Apple for 1'. So you will have more Attention.
And put the price on a Signage.

Same here. It's probably being delayed but not cancelled entirely, or something is not right (like working in game) so they have to fix it.

I must admit the project development speed slowed down due to certain RL reasons. I don't like it either, and will return to denser development schedule ASAP. Another reason for the lack of news, is that we've already shown too much. Of course there are places you haven't seen yet, but it'd be better to keep at least some data in secret until release.
As for the exact progress, the SSO is very close to its beta-testing stage, but we've reached one obstacle that complicates things a lot.

I'm sorry to hear that, but why not recruit some of the cooler guys around here like God of Gaming? I'm sure more skilled dudes can speed up development. Plus being too secretive is bad, you should seek out help if you need em.

As for the lack of news thing, why not show us more of the same, like an English Y-Knot screen? It wouldn't particularly be spoiling, plus it'll respark interest for a while more. You can be like Smash Bros' developers and release a screenshot each month to keep interest up while having a goal of finishing SSO as soon as possible so that you can stop releasing a screenshot a month.

In the end, I'm sure you'll do things right, so we'll do our part and wait patiently.

PS: What the fuck happened to Galvatron3000?

Translation is not the biggest problem we have.
Good news is, one of our developers told he'll finish up his part ASAP, which is the egyptian episode. It might seem silly because Egypt is the most complete part of SSA, but it appears that a huge pile of extra stuff had to be added in order to achieve our goals. We didn't plan to just port the Alpha to 1.07 (in fact, it was completely ported more than a year ago), but to finish it accordingly to the design document. Some requirements of this document created an obstacle I was talking about, but I wouldn't want to explain it. I'm sure we'll overcome it eventually, just don't rush the events. Croteam had all their time when they worked on Serious Sam, I don't have that much time, neither does anyone among SSO devs, so the development goes on veeery slowly.
And yes there is a nuke cannon.

But can you at least tell me how's it going with the English translation of SSO? With Galvatron3000 gone under the radar, who's doing the translation? It may not be a problem, but I'd really like to help out with the translation, just to make sure that SSO's English version looks like a proper game made in America, with proper English. I have played some English-translated Russian mods by somewhat famous people in SSite, but the English there certainly did not impress me. Hell, sometimes there's no English text at all but instead a garbled mess that was supposed to be Russian text. I may not look the part, but my English is indeed very good when I'm doing important jobs like this.

I can do British English too, but I think American English fits Sam more. You don't see Duke "Anybody mind if I take off my trousers?", do you?

Yes, he promised us this year. But it's fine even if he doesn't get to release it this year, I will wait however long it takes for SLAwww to turn SSO into the perfect game.

The reason why that's happening is because the game is trying to show Russian, but your copy of SS TSE doesn't have the Russian alphabet installed.

Yeah, and doesn't that means it's not fully translated into English?

Downloading a font with Cyrillic Alphabet, make a edit for SS, and maybe place it into our/your installation of SS should be possible.

Menu entries should be at the same position as in English/International Version.

So testing of Translation is possible.
