It's because he beats the levels insanely fast. I tried to do it that fast, but it wasn't gonna happen. I have to redo Valley of the Kings because of this.
And what are the things you added for the x65?

I have beaten the game with the x69 multiplier. I have beaten hatshepsut and The Great Pyramid with the x83. Especially because of the latter, I don't want to have to do it a THIRD time with x78.

I realised I was close to 900M. Once I hit that, I will stop playing, no matter how many people get ahead of me. So I'm done "competing" if you want to call it that. But believe me, I only did this because I was looking for a challenge from a game I've beaten a million times already. Adding personal difficulty was a great idea

(Metropolis still gives me nightmares. I had to figured out a way to get across that pit with only 4 health. Man I wish I could have made a demo)

But I think it's best to patch in the option "allow powerups?" so no one has to fight whether or not they should or shouldn't. And then the people who were cheap can't be cheap anymore if everyone can do it.

lol Well, I checked and I guess I used the cheat after all lol I thought I disabled it but seems like I didn t And I was so proud too! Guess I'm just a pussy after all

I thought luminary used infinite ammo or something but I guess he has the same settings as I do, no health, no armor. I ll never beat him, it's not in my nature at all to be fast lol

So then is it better to go for Time or All Secrets?
I like the Level Select to show I have all secrets (it only shows what you got on your highest score playthrough), so I never tried to hustle the levels when I thought I may get a personal High Score.
Also, rushing the levels doesn't allow you to take in all the lovely scenery.

Both! But you go for secrets first. Just for getting the secret you get 10000 points. If you got 100 points per second (which is much higher than the Great Pyramid) you still need to beat the level a minute and 40 seconds faster than ignoring the secret to equal that amount.

The scenery is quite nice After some admiration, just load it.

I have a question. Sorry if it was asked before, but to get "Serious Sam", "I Am invinsible" and similar achievements, should I finish the game from Hatshepsut to The Great Pyramid including all secret levels, or there's no matter in which order I play - I only need to have all levels completed with status that is neccessary for the achievement?

Secret levels are not required though. But in-one-go (with save/load alowed) is required.

I wasn't really going to worry about leaderboards.. but since I got all the achievements and this game is just way too much fun, I think the competition is fun

Around 18 months later there are:

TFE: 164992 posted scores in the SP leaderboard and 94544 scores in the coop board

TSE: 73585 posted SP scores, 68262 classic coop scores, but only 5566 coin op scores

and who knows how many Hacked ones that have been removed!

It looks like based on the last sale about 15000 more TFE scores came on, who knows how many more might have bought the game but haven't installed or played yet.

Some quick numbers
TFE:
You need over 582 Million to get into the top 100 for SP.
You need over 454 Million to get into the top 100 for coop.

TSE:
You need over 604 Million to get into the top 100 for SP.
You need over 465 Million to get into the top 100 for classic coop.
You need over 519 Million to get into the top 100 for coin op.

Currently good game knowledge of how to get all the secrets, most of the kills and being able to play on serious/mental without much more can get you up there. I look forward to competing for a bit more still! Hoping there is a similar board for the 3rd game.

While I will never be able to compete with you folks, I am happy. I made 57 on the leaderboards, the year that I was 57. Not bad for an old half-blind fat guy. lol

You whippersnappers are going to have to step it up a notch.

Score question: What is better for points on Moon Mountain; getting the "jump through the waterfall" secret, or killing the enemies in the last platform? This is for Serious difficulty.

You can do both-- Continue to the last platform, jump down, then go through the tunnel till you get to the cave behind the waterfall. Once there, don't trigger any enemies- just stick along the wall and get the +50 Secret Health, then follow the edge of the cliff next to the waterfall until the "Secret Passage Found" secret activates.

I played the game how I wanted (getting all secrets, trying to kill all enemies and completing it on serious difficulty) and I like where I ended up (22nd place)

What's better for points; a plain Mental run, or Serious Difficulty with powerups and armor off?

Serious with power ups off, armor off, and health off, enemy strength at 100% or more. You will get more enemies with Serious than mental.

In *most* first encounter levels, the extra enemies in Serious difficulty is enough to offset the added multiplier given by being on mental. In most second encounter levels, I believe it's more profitable to play on mental. Just check the leaderboards per-level and you can see how other people fair on both mental and serious difficulties

That is why I took the opportunity to bump my score up while I could. I will stop now and let others get theirs in while they can. I made #10 in TSE, I'm all tingly.

I got up to 7th place and took a screenshot of it, so I know I made it to the top ten "legit" before the top ten is overrun with 14 year old Eastern European Grand Cathedral exploiters with like 100 point differences between each of them.
