Default Insamnity mod bugs

Hi ...

I've recently installed Insamnity mod ....
Well ...took me some while (coz of gro files that needed to be moved to root dir ....very handy Croteam ...)

Anyway ....
There is a bug in the mod it self ...
mod does not accept "sam_strLevelToStart" parameter ....
Game always starts from "Jungle" map ....no mater what ..
After looking into the .exe ....seems that guys just hard coded the default map into the .DLL

Could it be fixed via config ? or will there be a fix ?...

Some more parameters are ignored by mod:

"sam_strMultiplayerSessionName" ....
"sgp_ctMaxPlayers"

But there are some changes :

i've managed to get the session title right ....by moving sam_***
parameters into [DedicatedServer] section of config.....actually ALL sam_** params were moved there...


in Sam2 original mod - (at least according to all available examples on the net) - those params usually located in [Sam2Game] section...

InSamnity simply ignores that fact ...also....all params with "sam_sgpGameOptions.sgp_****" ... just omitted by Insamnity...even FriendlyFire is set statically in the mod ... no way to change it...

I think you are not exactly up to news. The steam version of SS2 received a number of fixes. First a larger patch by Angelo, then now, the developer of Insamnity2 actually took it over, and released more patches. The next patch, for example, will integrate Insamnity2 into the game.

I've 2.070 version running....
Point is - i don't want SS2 to use steam as master server... or be connected to steam at all

No mater ...i've found a way arround....

since all those "sam_sgpGameOptions.sgp_****" parameters are ignored during setup of the game
I found that server accepts them via telnet ...

So right after server boots - simply connect to RCon ...and setup the parameters...:
After that call server reboot "samRestartServer()"

A voila !!!!

I've automated it in samtrack ...(server boot is flawless ....extra restart takes about a second )

All works ....even "give all weapons "

Annyyywwaayyy...

Even on Steam version with newest patch InSamnity can cause some problems.

In the first levels I've met some monsters that seem immortal (Immortal Monster 1, Immortal Monster 2 (the scorpion)) and I also cannot get past the first area of the Ursul where you have to protect Simbas from dogs. They just won't ever spawn. :v

Version for non-steam - seems to be OK .... no bad monsters so far...
The only bug i can report so far - is that sometime game refuses to render monsters...or rockets...or both

Probably when there is too much of them....donno ....its just sometime i see the exploding monsters....but no monsters at all ....or completely invisible rockets...


Ow....and client crashes sometime when map changes...

Thanks for the reports.

I know a few of these bugs still exist in the Steam version, and I will fix every one I can.

@dragon99919, the issue with the dogs in Ursul Suburbs. I think that is just some of the dogs getting stuck in few places. You should be able to continue if you hunt around a little, or wait for the mod to kill them off...

Well .. i was first...I mean fixing it ...
Its not just a repost - i've kinda provided quick-and-dirty solution for now...

Point is - it works and mod can be configured ...even through that cumbersome way...

Also - this is not about the steam version .....i couldn't care less about that one...
Though ...I hope you will find some time to introduce some of the changes into non-steam version of the mod....

I don't think it's really about time, more like CT doesn't really support non-steam releases anymore. Though not sure.

They don't support anything that #1 isn't on Steam and #2 isn't at least HD or newer. D w K is doing this because he's a nice guy. Otherwise you wouldn't get anything.

It seems that I cannot complete "The Boneyard" level... After killing all the monsters, nothing happens. Is that a bug, or just my personal case? I tried to reply the level once, with different settings, it doesn't work.
